You haven’t dropped one fact. Hopefully you can work out better analogies than the stock market one

still wrong. i’ll give you 17-18 were bad, which a nothing to do with rs. 19 and 20 were fine, just missed evals.

lemme know when you get a fact right man

I actually think Caffaro is a good example of why year 5 isn’t an automatic right call for even an international project big. I think 4 years and out is usually still a good model

This is a valid argument on the redshirt - but maybe less so in the age of the portal. Holding that guy in his 4th and 5th years because he couldn’t transfer having spent his redshirt year extracts a high opportunity cost. Telling the guy he isn’t going to play much in his 4th/5th year when a “free” transfer is available to him, well I think the opportunity cost is pretty low.

Can’t remember a single instance where you’ve come to this board and positive discourse has followed. Maybe change up your approach, just a thought

FACTS

Wasn’t planning to post anything, just read the thread. Then I saw all this RS talk about this guy and immediately got a sharp pain in my chest and suffered a blackout. Sorry, I just can’t contain my excitement with seeing another mid player here for what will feel like another 7 years ahead. Hope he proves me wrong! But let’s do it in 4, please and thank you. Ya know, like literally the other 250+ college basketball programs.

My point isn’t to dump on the guy. Haney articulated my position far better. Just stop with all this RS stuff. If a dude isn’t ready, then give him 2 years to develop through the program and play as an upperclassmen (if you can). If you can’t, then fine. That’s the point, it’s not like we can’t get these profile guys every single year. Or, better yet, maybe just stop recruiting guys that need 3 years of Mike Curtis to see the floor, what a novel concept. lol

next time lean into the blackout.

We could also say that Caffaro’s transfer this year illustrates that we aren’t necessarily “stuck” with a guy for 5 years if by his final year he hasn’t developed into a starter. (Yes, I know Papi is going on his 6th (!) year rather than his 5th, but if he’d arrived in 19-20 rather than 18-19, I assume he’d still be transferring this year.)

The redshirt also worked out for Caffaro himself, seeing as he’s choosing to use that extra year (again).

Wonder if you’ll see more fringe talents ask for a RS given where NIL is headed.

You can make literally all the same arguments without being super combative. I mean, it’s your choice - you do you, and I ain’t no board police - but I think you might have more productive discourse if you just took a slightly chiller approach.

We’re family, sometimes things get animated at Thanksgiving dinner but I’d still take the call and bury a body for you in Jersey if needed.

There ya go bringing common sense to the middle of a tantrum over a scholarship that would’ve otherwise gone to a walk-on
