Yeah absolutely. More like:
‘17 and ‘18- Bad
‘19 and ‘20- Good, but then turned out to be bad
‘21- Bad
Lol

…maybe next time, before you go absolutely apoplectic, wait for Haney to answer in your stead…
I do appreciate the passion, though…
Tell ya what, there’s some other tools in this thread too
Maybe we should all do this. I’m sure Haney could handle both sides of the argument and I have a feeling he would enjoy the exercise.
This is way too true
What would Haney say? Careful what you ask for!
I’m so happy we have someone to redshirt!
There’s a very real reason for that. All recruiting events and official visits were off limits. Trey Kaufman actually made a visit to Charlottesville with his mother, but they couldn’t talk to anyone. All they had to aid them was a map of the Grounds. No telling how that recruitment might have gone if Coach Bennett could have actually sat down with Kaufman and his mom. Of course, Kaufman also redshirted at Purdue!
Real evaluations and personal contact might have changed 2021 significantly.
The only strong opinion I have about redshirts is that our obsession with them is tedious.

I get what you’re saying…I think this was a correct grievance for top 100 guys like Kadin, Huff, Papi, Mamadi and Traudt…however Robinson *isn’t one of those guys- this guy needs serious development…as far as we know. HOWEVER, if he develops and surprises like Ryan Dunn has during summer sessions and practice in the preseason then I wouldn’t want him to redshirt either and then feel salty about it. This truly has to be his decision and if he thinks he can contribute next season.
I understand what you’re saying with this point. I’ve previously said “why would we want a paper weight here for 5 years when they could be gone in 4”, BUT that was in relation to guys who didn’t have the same upside as Robinson.
This is a unique situation of which we have NOT had before- a guy with HIGH potential, but currently a LOW ranking so hopefully less ego. So he’s not a 6’8 Justin McKoy, Francisco Badocchi etc. And he is not a 4- star Kadin, Caffarro, Huff or Mamadi, Traudt whom you would *expect to play immediately and NOT redshirt.
So even though I see MAJOR upside with him, I don’t expect it to be immediate, therefore not being annoyed that we are squandering his talent on the bench….
Now with that said- the next 6 months will be telling!
It hasn’t?
Have you seen our postseason play and talent drop-off since the 2019 chip? We need players and development these 4/3 stars better than we have been doing.
If Reece doesn’t return, we won’t see the big dance imo. Harris is less talented than Reece, and I pray he doesn’t get hurt cuz there’s no other PG on this roster.
Correct it hasn’t. I’ll bet you if we wind up with blue and no Reece will makethe tourney
Rohde can play PG. And if we got Cain, he could too.
I’m not buying Rohde is a PG, fell for the false reports on guys being able to play a certain position and when they get with us, they can’t. Lol
We were told IMac could play some 1, and his handle is loose, Dunn was an outstanding shooter with great length, he’s now slated to be a long-term PF that can’t shoot.
What I saw from Rohde was a solid wing that can create a little off the bounce, not a back-up PG.
My post didn’t include Cain, you moved the goalpost there buddy, lol.
Rohde is not an PG option. Agree. IMac after one year can do it some, I think. Imac had one kinda nightmare trying at Wake but in the shadow of Reece and Kihei.
That all has changed
Edit: my point is agree with you 100 percent on Roaday at the point
Rohde can pass and maybe has some vision but that alone does not a pg make
