Idk about the NYC vs Bodos bagel angle but salads are just a waste. If you can’t work out I guess they might make sense. But if you are working out regularly they just starve you of space for food with actual nutrition
Seriously what is a salad? Is that the stuff I scrape off my burgers?
Well now wait just second, haha. Salads can deliver a ton of nutrition! All depends on what you put it in. Yeah, if it’s iceberg lettuce with bacon bits and ranch, that’s not giving you anything. But dark leafy greens (spinach, baby kale, etc.) are incredibly nutrient dense, then you add in tomatoes, peppers, seeds/nuts, grain, etc. and you can have a super nutritious meal that include a ton of important vitamins, minerals, and fiber. You can also add chicken, steak, chickpeas, beans and so on for protein.
I will not abide all this salad hate! Salads are what you make of them. They can suck (and many do), but they can also be great and very nutritious!
Salads are woke, especially the multicolored ones.
No ones getting jacked eating one of these so called salads. I’ve never seen a jacked rabbit.
Roo only lived to 12 though. Had to be roided up.
Yup he’s on the juice. And everyone knows Australias true menance are these guys.
As a college GF once put it, “salad is what food eats”.
Exactly. Whatever i eat should have had parents at some point
To be fair, baby romaine must have had parents.
You see, when a mama romaine and a daddy romaine really care about one another…
Agreed. But idk why 99% of the time people (or at least North Americans?) decide to make them either have no nutrition or add so many crappy toppings that they cancel out the nutritious bits
I’ll be honest, I’ve been addicted to a salad recipe the last few months:
Take your mandolin and shave a whole fennel bulb and a bag of Brussels sprouts
Add a Calabrian chili and some olive oil to the veg and cook at around 325 for like 15 minutes (not trying to brown them, just cook them enough that they don’t wreck your stomach)
Add something crispy (chickpeas, croutons, whatever)
Add some real parmigiana and a Caesar dressing
That actually looks and sounds good.
One of those weird facts of life that would have confused younger me is that I miss brussels sprouts. Because the window between when I learned how to cook them properly so that I’d genuinely appreciate and enjoy them, and when, even if cooked properly, they started utterly destroying my stomach, was like 4 months. Brussels sprouts weren’t the only culprit, there was a whole wave of new foods I couldn’t eat anymore (mostly bell pepper adjacent), they just happened to get caught up in it.
If the timing had been just a little different, I would have never gotten to like them at all OR I might have had a decent phase during which I could actually enjoy them. But no. Here, then gone.
