Beekman 15 ppg?

If Pedulla or Girard were 6-3 and muscular with a 36 inch vertical then yes they are the same as IMac.

McKneely is also going to be a more than capable defender by the time he leaves here. Already better than Pedulla (who I’d argue is the worst on ball defender in the conference) and unsure about Girard because I don’t watch enough of him.

My claim about Pedulla btw is more based on the fact that I would find it hard to believe anyone could be worse than any type of actual analysis lol

If anyone could be worse than Pedulla it would be Girard.

At least Pedulla’s been coached to defend in a man scheme. Wonder how much muscle memory Girard is going to have to overcome making the switch?

Sharing for interest not because I fully co-sign it; here’s a list of the ACC players classified as ballhandlers (point guards, scoring point guards, combo guards) by Hoop Explorer, sorted by their 2022-23 defensive regularized adjusted plus-minus, from worse to better:

Terrence Shannon… interesting

I understand that Proctor is a big time talent and had an impressive showing against us in JPJ, but this feels like a little too much hype for a guy who averaged 9 PPG last year on 38/32/87 shooting splits. Not saying it’s a Caleb Love situation but top 10 player in the country would be quite the leap.

Caleb Love was 52 on that list. That’s a joke

Comparing IMac to Girard and Pedulla? I think you’re gonna find out out pretty early on this season that these comps aren’t close.

I don’t know what criteria they base this list on. Conference wise, I think they have it right with Flip and Bacot. Proctor is way too high. I would take RJ Davis over him and Beekman and Mintz. There, I said it! PJ Hall is way too low. He is going to have am awesome year.

Now that I have opened a can of worms, I’ll be ducking flying objects from you guys.

Looking forward to it.

The list also omitted Blake Hinson, who may lead the conference in scoring.

I love PJ Hall. Poor poor mans Harpring from GaTech back in the day

The conference is loaded with good bigs this year.

If Dukes number 30 played like an old school big and didnt wanna show case shooting 3s his team would be real real

One thing to watch for this season, Reece is going to shoot up the all time steals list and has a very good chance of ending up at #1

He is 62 steals behind Wilson. Last year he had 57 steals. The year before he had 73.

He also has a good chance to end the season as a top-5 (or potentially top 3) assists leader.

Just puts into perspective that Reece has been putting up numbers in his career even if he was playing sidekick for the first two. I hope he can win some NCAA tournament games.

All that pressure defense we are gonna play will help. Plus getting into passing lanes. Not your father’s pack line (as Dick B always reminds us)
