Beekman 15 ppg?

This. While I don’t envision Havoc or Press Virginia, I do expect to see a lot more pressure simply by virtue of our length and athleticism. Add in Reece‼️’s incredible instincts, I fully expect to see a lot more transition buckets.

Edit: I wasn’t sure if you were tongue-in-cheek, but I ‘m taking you seriously and sticking with it!

Agree. I wouldn’t expect a sea change but I would think we’ll take advantage of the personnel a little bit

Nope. I was rightfully admonished for getting upset with you. You are welcome to post when/what you wish. I am sorry for being too sensitive.

But Reece is a better all-around guard than Mintz.

I thought Haney might take the bait and propose the provocative question I had in mind:

If Reece becomes #2 assists, #1 steals, 2x ACCDPOY, and First Team all ACC, (with his prior 3rd team all acc and acc all defense) does his Jersey go in the rafters? Or does he need to win 3 NCAA games to even make it a conversation? Does wining NDPOY change the calculus?

Little bit of both. I think Reece has had the green light to playmake on the weak side defensively, even if it means going out of scheme.

He’s a big part of why I think they should continue to trap the post, as it puts Reece in free safety mode.

When they trap the post aggressively before the post is deep in the post it works tremendously. Almost guarantee of a free ball

I’m not a good person to ask, I don’t really track it that closely. Off the cuff, I’d say like final 4, maybe an all American team. ACC POY… in that neighborhood

All is good. And I agree with your statement. But, Mintz will put up better numbers.

This is what, the fourth time you’ve said this? You are just talking about scoring / ppg or what? If you’re talking ppg you’re probably right, but it’s also pretty meaningless without factoring in pace of play.

Reece will have more assists and steals than Mintz, while being an infinitely better defender. Not sure what you’re trying to prove with this “Mintz better numbers” echo chamber, but IMO it’s getting old.

Been down this road @HooDat !

“Better numbers” = PPG to way too many fans, which is just such a shallow way to look at players. Not that scoring isn’t important, obviously points win and lose games on the most mathematical of levels. But to discount the rest is just lazy.

You’re correct. I am tired of talking about Mintz. Consider your gag order honored!

Can Ironmike come on a podcast with us when we play Cuse this year?

Man, we get you guys early! Looking forward to it. Perhaps you won’t have time to gel and we’ll have a chance!

Cobblestone?

Im ashamed @Ironmike57 . Not because of your differing view point or how you cannot see the truth in Reece Beekman. Im ashamed because you are tired of talking about Judah Mintz after one day.

We spent THREE YEARS here arguing the Reece-Kihei pairing. ONE YEAR each for Kon and Keels. And after only one day you are tired? Let your weakness and your paper-clad resolve be examples of the growth needed from you before you can join the pantheon of posters here.

Quitter - who said we are finished arguing?

When Reece explodes this season as our floor general after finally getting the keys to the team, we’re firing on all cylinders as he’s surrounded by lethal shooters, and when our defense becomes top 20 again because we’re right sized across the guard positions again…

See how easy it is to chum the water for Kihei fights? We can do this for years more! Years!

Now that the Kihei debate isn’t affecting four current team, it needs to get in line behind other old debates. For example, I’ve been waiting patiently for my “why did we keep Darion on the bench when Branden Dawson was stealing Evan Nolte’s lunch money at MSG - DEBATE ME BRO!” number to be called for years.
