Exactly they really aren’t that impactful. We needed a win yesterday to be sure but we’re in

I think we’re safely in, but when you’re this close to the cut line, nothing is assured. A victory tonight should remove any doubt.

And two more wins should get us out of the First Four.

We have zero bad loses and 10 Q1/Q2 wins. We are in.

That’s exactly what we were saying before last night’s game lol.

That’s the problem with these Q2 games, they don’t really move the needle, so we have to sweat what happens behind us (Q1 opportunities for some bubble teams, plus bid thieves). But with our SOR now up to 25 (!), I’m feeling good.

I don’t pretend to be a bracketologist. I think 23 wins and a third-place finish in a major conference should be enough, but who knows. I think it’s silly that Clemson is considered a lock and we’re on the cusp. I know Clemson did really well in the non-conference, but that shouldn’t obscure how mediocre they’ve been in conference.

You mean get us to The Final Four

I think we are confusing things with the ‘need x amount of wins’ talk. Really what we need is to avoid bad losses and not have teams behind us catch us. Really for us it’s about not getting blown out tonight and not having a big East bubble team make the final, New Mexico win the MW, etc. Just don’t get blown out tonight and we should be good

Hard disagree. I think we solidified our spot. We are 10-9 in the top 2 quadrants and a top 30 SOR.
No one below us had huge wins - they mostly did what they were supposed to do. The big losers yesterday besides wake (which was a good result for us imo) was seton hall and Indiana state. Indiana state basically has 0 chance now.

I personally agree with you. But the general consensus is that we are currently last 4 in. It seems like only 2 or 3 teams would need to pass us to be left out which seems not too far fetched

The big East love is annoying. Seton hall should be firmly on the bubble too but they seem to be in. How was beating Nova last week enough? Their OOC is very mediocre with no good wins. Having 3 locked in 1-3 seeds in their conference basically makes 6 of their games have 0 downside and infinite upside. So just tread water, pick up 1 or 2 upset wins, and avoid losses to the bottom feeders Georgetown and DePaul and you’ll be fine

Idk I’ve seen a couple updates this morning that have us as a 10 seed :man_shrugging: hard to know for sure but I think we are somewhere in the 3-6th last team in. Win tonight and there shouldn’t be any issues. Lose a close one tonight and we’d need some chaos below us to miss out

It’s amazing to see how much hate we’re getting on social media for being included in the field. I kind of like us playing the villain role this tournament.

According to SVP there is a new metric called “the eye test” so apparently they will be checking the vision of our players very closely this weekend–worried about Ryan’s vision as he took over the Kadin Shedrick role of using his face to stave off a defender last night.

I hate Jay Bilas for starting this whole eye test talk as a way to get around the measures we have been told are the criteria being used and still keep us out of the dance.

Yeah hopefully the big boys take care of business today (unc (to ensure Pitt can’t jump us/win the auto bid), Tennessee, Kentucky, etc).

I really think this could be the year where the bracket comes out and we are like 8-10 teams off the bubble (9 seed or something) because the committee actually valued the acc and our resume.

One positive development is FAU’s path got easier with Memphis and SMU losing. FAU’s quarterfinal game vs North Texas is probably tougher than either possible semifinal opponent.

CBS (Jerry Palm) now says we need to win the ACCT to make the NCAAT. Media narrative continues to grow against us

That is absurd and not remotely true

Joe Lunardi said before last night’s game that we were in with a win.

Neither guy’s opinion means anything. Let’s just keep winning.

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm.

The scenario that would make me pretty nervous is if NC State beats Pitt in the final. Obviously NC State would get the autobid plus UNC, Duke, and Clemson as locks. Would Pitt jump us with a win over UNC if we lose to NC State? The media certainly would be pushing hard for that.

If we make it, I hope everyone is bashing us on TV all week. I think that would be good for this team and give us an us against the world mindset.
