Yeah this is what they would want Nickel to be more or less, a big guard that they can slide down. Needs to prove he can defend at least wing players at the ACC level. When you fast forward to '22, Murphy will be a senior and who knows how long Jabri will be around. So ideally they’d like that next small ball guard in the pipeline.

Do we know if staff are allowed to do video visits with class of 2022 now that contact can be made? Can they do video visits casually or is it more like an “official” visit in that a player can only do so many. And is the staff willing to do a whole video visit just to establish the relationship or do you think they wait until after Tony gets that initial in person scouting done
Yep they can do any sort of “electronic” contact with 2022s now. I think the zoom stuff is getting pretty basic. Not necessarily the full treatment but just hopping on there for longer conversations with a whole family. I expect that will be the lasting legacy of the pandemic on recruiting. Simple phone calls won’t be enough. Kids will expect that or else they’re not priorities or whatever.
But as far as the in depth visit style meetings, that’s not happening with 2022s yet. If they can’t get out in the Fall, it will.

If I was a 2022 and had not reclassify already I’d take an extra year unless I had the exact offer I wanted. It was gonna be a big summer for some of these guys and who knows when they’ll get to play in front of coaches again? This whole thing sucks.

Kevin Keatts has been in Isaac Mckneely’s ear very frequently. I think in the rivals article Isaac said NC State was reaching out like literally every day.
