Yeah he was most likely going to be canned this year or next. Was one of the coaches rumored to be shopping around to get out. Even reached out to FSU (is Hamilton staying? They just got a commit so I assume one more season).

I swear to God if Calipari goes to Southern Cal. After getting Reed Sheppard, he gets another homegrown underrated gem in Trent Perry. He doesn’t deserve that.

Brooks out at VT? That’s huge. He built them, but it makes sense with the majority of their team moving on.

Same as with Buzz, it’s a stepping-stone program for hoops.
Many made the comment on Mike Young that he was appropriately small-time for them, a late-career mid-major guy who wouldn’t have any aspirations beyond Blacksburg.
That said, most respectable top tier coaches are going to have no interest in being a lifer at Cassell.

Buzz didn’t surprise me at all.
The key difference between him and Brooks is Brooks essentially got VT to the mountain top. They were a top 10 ranked team for the past two season with legit Final 4 contention possibilities. While I don’t blame anyone for wanting out of Blacksburg he likely could have stayed there as long as he wanted.
