He did get into a kerfluffle with Garwey Dual from Providence in some random early season tournament last year…so there’s precedent?
Yes. Is what i was recalling
Which position should your “most likely to get in a fight” guy play in an ideal team construction?
- PG
- SG
- SF
- PF
- C
Power forward, of course. I mean, you want him to win, don’t you?
PF he’ll size and athletic ability. Centers have great size but usually they are so big they make awkward fighters and don’t know how to handle their fine motor skills. The right PG could also be a nightmare. Small scrappy likes to fight from underneath.
Dai Dai Ames getting kicked out of a Chuckie Cheese… that’s my future pg
e.g. Ralph Sampson vs Jerry Sichting
Shaq getting dumped on his butt by a 6’4 Charles Barkley. Zo getting stood up by Grandmama if I recall
I think I’d go PF too, extra points if he’s of the 6’6”-and-under variety, the dudes who are built like tight ends. But I agree with @BDragon that PG is an intriguing option, as 1) that usually means they’re unhinged enough to be a problem, 2) small guys have a better chance of getting away with it.
I have a friend who was a bouncer for years. He isn’t big, but he’s a black belt in like 5 different martial arts and is utterly comfortable in a fight against someone of any size.
He always said the little guys are the worst. You’d think its the big guys, but once you get enough practice at using their weight against them they’ve fine. Plus, they know they’re big so they’re usually overconfident.
But a little guy who wants to start something? He probably knows what he’s doing and he’s crazy. You don’t want that.
100% those little guys who are not afraid to start something are tough as nails. They know how to scrap. They are fast quick hands and fight like they have nothing to lose because like you said if a little guys gets his a$$ kicked by a big guy everyone expects it and doesn’t care but if a big guy gets his a$$ kicked by a little guy now you have a story.
Also generally big guys don’t have to fight a ton so they honestly aren’t that good at it. If I take out rugby and rugby related fights the number of fights I’ve been in probably drops to single digits.
Ralph Sampson vs Larry Bird. Really sorry fight by 2 of my heroes
We thought Harris was a dawg too. He was, just the too small and can’t shoot type.
Harris never got punched in a game
. Also, dai dai has played better comp.
I thought he was a dawg but never once thought he had any sort of high ceiling. I think Dai Dai at least has a ceiling of a good to really good college player
I led our teams (early 90’s) in intra-squad fights started and fights lost. Sadly, all of them were in practice. I want another shot at Terry Kirby. That one ended fast.
Not untrue
He simply adds an offensive element that Rhode doesn’t, I was also impressed by
his passing. Also, bench Taine. How many turnovers did he fumble out of his hand and follow that up by air balling a three tonight? I know he has been loyal to our University, but aside from seniority does he deserve to log major minutes?
- Had half of the teams 12 turnovers
