We have to get rid of this targeting bullshit. That probably should have been called by the rules, they just didnā€™t want to alter the game for a pretty bland hit. I donā€™t blame them. I couldnā€™t imagine trying to play under the rules today, wouldnā€™t last a quarter.

16 teams, no bye, first 2 rounds played with home field advantage. Teams that played last week have had a clear early advantage this round.

I say fuck it, go full send with a 24 team playoff like the FCS does. Cut a game off the regular season schedule, no conference title games. Top 5 highest ranked conference regular season champs + three at-large teams get byes. First two rounds are all on campus.

Is it overkill? Absolutely. But playoff games are fun and I want chaos.
