šŸ€ Dream Recruits thread Class of 2025

Agreed. I assume we will follow last years model, grad transfers and freshmen

I’m not sure the 1 vs 2 time matters though? Isn’t the entire hang up with UVa that we don’t bend on the ā€˜60 credits must completed at UVa’ requirement? If so I don’t think it matters if the other 60 were at the same school or split between placed. Especially when the two schools are as reputable as Notre Dame and Vanderbilt

Reputation is not the issue. The content of the courses must match between the campuses/grounds.

E.g., if you have 3 credits of leisure management 101 in your transcripts then you will lose those credits in the transfer.

Or that is my understanding…

I know reputation isn’t the issue lol am I off about 60 credit requirement being the problem? Or is it an actual admissions issue vs the feasibility of graduating in the scholarship timeframe issue I’ve always heard?

Appreciate the link but that doesn’t really clarify much lol

I don’t really know much but I’d guess all the logistical issues of a 2x transfer are roughly 2x that of a 1x transfer. You take a kid who’s focusing on hoops at one rigorous academic institution and then you shunt that kid to a different rigorous academic institution whose way of academically directing kids who focus on hoops is different than the first, and THEN he transfers again? I imagine the third academic institution will have a thicket of logistical issues to work through …

But to be fair I hadn’t even really thought of it until St Lou raised it.

That’s what I’m here for.

I transferred into a school back in the day with the max allowable credits, but only got to apply a handful of credits to my major’s graduation requirements because the credits didn’t match up ā€œwell enoughā€ with course offerings at the new school.

I’d guess that transfers into UVA face similar issues, esp. if you’re racing to graduate before you run out of eligibility. My suspicion is that all of this transfer activity is going to result in lower graduation rates for athletes because of the transfer credit issue.

Nolan Groves from Orono where my brother coaches to go to state! UVA has been in contact with him.

Can we legally invite Duke’s 7-man incoming recruiting class to go on the portal and then transfer here?

Which NCAA rules would that be violating? Other than the impermissible contact rule, if that exists. We could find room for those 7 players. Do they know who James Buchanan Duke was? They should find out.

Had a 53 point game and broke his HS record recently. not bad.

Completely forgot that this thread would also be suitable for high school kids lol.

Louisville has some possible players coming out. How about the 7-1 center from southern California they got, who barely played this year, but this guy has long arms.

Any college team that has a head coach who has just been fired, may have at least one decent prospect on it. I don’t know how you can go about convincing the player to join the portal.

45 points, 18 rebounds, 11 assists tonight, double OT, but still ridiculous numbers against a team with legit talent

All this from a player without a 247 page?

Here are the other 2 buzzer beaters that game to send it to OT and double OT. uVA has also contacted Brady Wooley, the guy who scored to send it to double OT.

Pretty sure he had to medically retire. Had been committed to Minnesota. Dennis Evans, I think

I don’t think he medically retired. My understanding is that Louisville wouldn’t clear him to play.

So maybe a Jared Butler Bama-Baylor situation?
