šŸ€ Dream Recruits thread Class of 2025

No, coaching change allows you to enter the transfer portal outside the regular windows. It doesnā€™t allow you to transfer a second time as an undergrad without sitting out.

Got it. I thought that was how Brandon Murray was immediately eligible

Actually as I type this I see he hasnt played for Ole Miss. (after transferrring from Georgetown and LSU both after coaching changes).

So no igor unless hardship waiver?

I mean, he could just graduate from Charlotte and then be a grad transfer right? Probably doesnā€™t have the credits, but itā€™s an option.

Colemanā€™s defense was absolutely terrible last week.

I donā€™t remember him being too bad. He gave up a backdoor cut to Dunn for a dunk and let Rohde get past him on a drive to the hoop, but he also had 14 rebounds and was switching 1-5. His DBPM was decent, we didnā€™t score a ton at the rim either that game and he was coming off an injury.

Do we have a read on Kon?

Probably shitting his pants at the realization he put his future in the hand of Duckin Jon Scheyer. Derek Lively ainā€™t walking through those doors.

Igor returning to his original school isnā€™t really a second transfer though, itā€™s just a cancellation of the first one. Technically if he comes back he never transferred at all. Someone draft a brief.

The updated dream (if anyone cared)

Jemison reclass to 2024

KJ Cochran
Sadiq White
Jackson Keith (if one of McKneely Gertrude or Rohde is gone early)
Random center i dont care about that probably redshirts to 2026 anyways.

With Ishan Sharma continuing to play well vs US competition, I dont see as much a need in Chance Mallory who also wants heavy volume. Go with Cochran who is a reece type, trade the elite defense for solid defense potential but also not looking like he is suffering when shooting 3s like Reece did early on.

Donā€™t coaches kids get like free tuition? Preferred walk on 14th scholarship?

Iā€™m pretty sure Juwan Howard put his sons on scholarship. The Porter boys at Missouri too. Likely the Lawsons at Memphis. The guy at Milwaukee. Likely the Boeheims (who probably needed it the least).

Yeah butā€¦ like those were all top 50 kids who were planned to be in the rotation. I dont think staff want to actually manage more than 13 kids at once.

Wow a completely differently player- quick trigger.

I selected him as well as we need a stretch 4 and am liking what Groves brings and BVP when he was healthy earlier in the year.

TJ Power is a turn coat and we donā€™t know what his skills are yet.

Has anyone ever transferred back to the same school?

Lol not sure if the Cory Alexander connection would help or not.

Also Im sure staff are well aware of whether they have a chance, whether there is a fit there with the camps, whether heā€™s someone that fits what tony wants, and if Ryan Dunn and Trey Murphyā€™s success helps if they do want to be involved there.

Sadiq White is in an awkward spot where, if we want him and there isnā€™t any issues with camp or personality fit, we could capitalize hard. He dropped from being a bonafide 5 star to a woeful top 40/4 star recruit. Where a lot of the blue bloods and NIL players have their eyes elsewhere but still keeping some contact and the schools that are recruiting him hard now arenā€™t all that interesting to him. Sort of like Jacob Cofieā€™s recruitment.

His development comments + Dunn and Murphy footage I think would knock it out of the park for him to UVA as a 4/3 to pair with London Jemison as a 3/4.

Once upon a time I wondered if BJ Stith wouldā€™ve made a nice boomerang transfer, going into his RS Sr year, to take over Devon Hallā€™s vacated spot. But obviously he elected to stay at ODU with his dad, win C-USA Player of the Year, and take the Monarchs to the NCAAT instead. We, at the same time, won the natty that year. Think it worked out well for everyone.

Werenā€™t there rumors of Kon getting cold feet on the Dukies? Did I make that up? Feel like HGN mentioned there was nothing there yet, but with everyone picking Duke the Knueppleā€™s were taking a long look

I realize this could cause a spiral and for that I do not apologize

I believe @HoozGotNext noted that he heard in the basketball recruiting sphere that Kon might decommit from Duke if they were to get VJ Edgecombe.

At the time there was a lot of noise with Duke and Edgecombe

But all signs currently point to Edgecombe committing to Kentucky or St Johns (but tbd).
