🏀 Dream Recruits thread Class of 2025

All I recall was that there were rumors that someone in Duke’s '24 class was having second thoughts, but maybe it was Darren Harris, an early commit and “only” a mid-4-star who’s since been arguably recruited over by Kon, Isaiah Evans, and then potentially Edgecome and/or Dylan Harper.

Speaking of which, is there any consensus on where Harper will pledge tomorrow?

Yeah supposedly Knueppel had threatened to decommit if Duke took Edgecombe. There’s only one starting spot for them, that’s the issue… As True said, Edgecombe seems to be trending away from Duke since then. Probably not unrelated.

He didn’t have to threaten. C’mon. Scheyer had his back. Amateurish and non-brotherhood behavior from our guy Kom.

Scheyer’s like “Kom, there are no starters at Duke, everything is on the players - they want in, they want out, whatever. I let 'em. I mean really, if you’ve watched any of our games does it look like I’m coaching this team?”

Kon felt very much like a UVA guy until 2 weeks before he committed and then he became very much not a UVA guy lol.

BFF’s with Tony to where is my starting spot and NIL money real quick.

Yeah and then just a few weeks after that he’s getting cold feet over potentially being over-recruited?

I get he’s just a teenager, but it’s more wishy-washiness than we typically see out of UVA commits.

Meanwhile Sharma just quietly dropping buckets of 3s in his senior season.

Yep, brought up this exact same point when him potentially decommitting was originally mentioned. If you’re a prospect who is worried about getting recruited over then why the hell did you commit to Dook in the first place, that is literally one of like two or three places where that’s a legitimate possibility.

We’re the anti-Duke in that respect. A whiff of someone like Kon committing to UVa, let alone actually committing, and 4-star recruits in the same positional range are all like how I will ever see the court with that potential roster construction - I need to commit to Alabama!

But even if Kon were to decommit, would he come to UVA? I thought one of the takeaways from his decision was that we weren’t even in second place.

Once he took the Bama visit you knew things were changing imo

Oh he’s a stud lefty! Athletic and Quick.

Don’t think we’d have room for him. Sharma took that spot. And, I know, Kon’s arguably good enough you make room for him. But with Sharma on board and impressing, and Gertrude showing well, and Taine clearly committed to getting his UVA degree… well, the math is the math unless you have unexpected backcourt attrition. The big need this coming offseason for the '24-25 class, if there is one, is a veteran big man if Dunn goes pro to give top cover to the four remaining underclassmen in the front court (soph Blake, RS Fr A-Rob, RS Soph Bond, Frosh Cofie).

Since this thread is called the “Dream Recruits of 2025” might as well throw out the idea of Bryson Tiller filling Dunn’s spot assuming he leaves this year. Once can dream. For whatever reason Tony feels he had a chance, otherwise he wouldn’t waste time on a kid like Tiller.

Would be cool, but CTB at least takes a swing at a lot of kids we have no real shot at.

I appreciate a thread on recruiting pipe dreams because I can ignore it and focus on the more realistic threads. I kid, I kid…

Yes … i believe some on here might be sleeping on what a deadly shooter Sharma is
