Here’s a spot to discuss you dynasty. Share tips and tricks and jump in for some comic relief after you rage quit against UNC for the 3rd time in a row.
How is the dynasty mode? Considering buying a PS5 this year specifically for CFB 25 but heard that it felt a little empty and that the simulation algorithm was all messed up
Tangential to the football thread, but I have the new college football video game, and through my first two games of a UVA dynasty I had Colandrea with like 1000 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions thrown including multiple pick-6s (we’re throwing the ball 50-60 times per game). I think I am accurately channeling his real-life spirit into his digital avatar.
Man I got the NCAA game a couple weeks ago and the AC experience in the game is far too realistic for my liking. Pretty sure I played a game last week and AC had 300+yrds 3 TDs and 3picks on 70% completion. I don’t know how they did with other players but they nailed the Virginia football experience.
If you want to make the game too easy for yourself, this mini-scheme of 4 plays is stupidly effective against the AI:
I’ve got Colandrea at 400+ yards per game passing, Kobe Pace is the front runner for the Heisman, and Chris Tyree is gonna break all the single season receiving records. Beat Maryland by 60 points haha. Lost on the road to Clemson though because I rely so much on audibles at the line, which get confused or not followed in tough road environments (which is a great touch).
I refuse to buy this game.
I will not buy this game.
Must not buy it.
FIFA comes out in just a few weeks.
Aw crap accidentally pressed the wrong button and bought it.
Not going to play it.
Come in, the water’s fine. My digital universe Hoos are 8-1, ranked #10, and currently projected to be one of 3 ACC teams (lol) in the expanded playoff.
Planning on picking up the PS5 and game this weekend. Will probably bundle Madden too since I stopped playing that about the time they stopped making NCAA.
Jump in and do it. I bought a PS5 and the game 2 weeks ago and it was worth the investment and not too bad after trading in my PS4.
I sadly lost in the CFP Semi’s last night to a stacked Bama team. But we’re trending in the right direction. I was most proud that the ACC put 5 teams into the CFP with Clemson winning it all.
Also I know stay up a good hour later than normal most nights because of this game. You’d think at 40 I’d know better by now.
I’m going to stick with playing Astro Bot when it releases in a few weeks and not get sucked into the madness.
One level at a time…
Interested to see how they incorporated NIL and transfer portal into Dynasty mode.
In the old game I liked starting at a smaller school and building my way up, but with those factors now I’d imagine you’ll lose your best players after 1 good season.
I love it. How’s recruiting going?
@jazznutUVA We might need a video games thread…
Struggled out of the gate, but it’s turning around now heading into year 3. Mostly was my own user era operating under assumptions from the old game. But I think I got the hang of it now.
I’m liking the dynasty mode. Apparently there were some AI glitches early on upon release but they’ve patched some of them. NIL didn’t make it into the game, but the transfer portal is pretty cool.
@BDragon being all technical with the thread splitting and all. I’m impressed!
A little disappointed no NIL, because of what a big impact it can have on the actual game/real recruiting. Would have thought the concept would be easy to move over from Madden, since its Dynasty mode has had a salary cap for years. Just tweak it to scale…obviously an SEC powerhouse is going to have a bigger NIL budget to work with than ODU or JMU would.
@jazznutUVA, totally random question but you may know since you work with USAFA. Do the service academy athletes have limitations on what they can get/do in NIL?
Shh don’t tell anyone, but I’m kinda good at this website stuff. Almost like I used to do it for a living…
Yeah I’m just in year 1 but feel like I made some mistakes, mostly around not getting good depth in the class. Week 10 and I have 7 commits, but I felt like I barely had the points to scout everyone properly while making progress on building their interest. So I’m kinda like “oh you’ve got 4 stars by your name, here’s an offer!”
My Computer Science E-Commerce class at UVa made me realize I hated PGP, PHP & HTML… so I can thank UVa for steering me away from ever taking a job doing it. It sounds like you got out of it too…
So the short answer is service academy athletes can not sign NIL deals… here is why:
…those at service academies are “classified as employees” of their respective military branches, meaning they are “subject to the federal law prohibiting military members from using public office for private gain.”
