A couple more Irish linguistic oddities:
“I’m after . . .” instead of “I was” or “I’ve just;” e.g. “I’m after having a few pints of the black stuff at the pub.”
“Going for messages” = grocery shopping/running errands

Ted Jeffries, Chris Slade and Shawn Moore came to Rio circa 2006 and I met em there. You couldnt tell anyone TJ was not Shaq. Also happened in NYC couple years ago when TJ was here. German tourists asking “Shaq” for pictures
