I’m like that in most big cities too. I hate being crowded. NYC by far the worst for me. That said my hear almost exploded in Bangkok.

Mixing worlds here but watching an interview of of 2024 Luke Bambgoye and is that a british accent? I can’t tell if it’s british or an afric-english mix.

Also it amazed me the first time I heard someone non-western hemisphere from my dad’s work (embassy work) speak english in a british accent. Crazy how those learning english can also pick up the accents.

Last time I was in Manhattan, I was staying at the Doubletree on Times Square at an Air Force event. I ended up having to walk through Times Square in full Class-A service dress… so weird. I wasn’t sure if I should be scared of people yelling at me because they thought the Air Force were baby killers or humbled from the other half shaking our hand thanking us for our service. LOL!

Definite British school if not grew up in the UK for a bit. The Germans that live around me speak in more of a British/German accent in English… so this doesn’t surprise me as the UK is closer.

Also. Why does the British accent annoy me so much on native British people but I think it is cool on folks not native to Britain?

Depends on which British accent it changes from county to county. To @jazznutUVA point earlier the Essex accent up at the top for worst

Which British accent are you referring to? What part of the UK? There are some impossible ones to understand when really thick - Cumbrian, Scottish, Welsh, Liverpudlian… but there are also some very easy ones even when thick - Leeds, Mancurian, West Midlands wasn’t too bad… there are like 30 in London itself to include the famous Cockney one which is impossible to understand.

Give me a celebrity of the accent you are referring…

All I know really is London and my neighbor here is Welsch and its just not cool to me. But when you have say like a person from Africa or Carribean or Indian or Pakistani it sounds really cool to me.

Not sure how to explain it

Sidenote: saying SHEDULE instead of SCHEDULE has bazarley caught on with me

A Welshman from the valley is near impossible to understand (my beat friend is one) like listening to a drnk Safo speak Afrikaans.

Also once had a coach from the scottish highlands legit didn’t understand a thing said all season.
