Had a pub friend that if he called me on the phone I had to legit tell him I would have to talk to him when we got a pint, because his Scottish accent on the phone made him sound like I was talking to the teacher on Charlie Brown cartoons.

Maybe? I had a friend who lived in a building that was almost all Indian. I thought the concentration of South Asians was Jackson Heights. At least that’s where I went for Indian food.
My cousin went to an Australian school in Vietnam and now lives in Brazil. Her English accent is quite interesting.
On city size debate - Berlin is basically my ideal city. Large and a ton to do, but also an immense amount of green space woven throughout and very little building upward. It’s almost more like four or five smaller cities joined together, but it doesn’t feel like sprawl because it’s just dense enough and the public transit makes it extremely easy to get anywhere you want quickly. Never felt overcrowded there, but still enjoyed all the amenities of a major capital city. Highly recommend if folks haven’t been.
17th Street
Yeah R is underground. I think the M was at that stop too, but can’t remember if I could take that one. E stopped there on weekends when it went local in Queens. NW was the elevated track that went up the west side of Astoria.
Can’t tell you how many friends tried to visit me accidentally take the N and called from Queensboro Plaza and I’d tell them they had to walk down to Queens Plaza and take the R. Why MTA decided to have stops named Queens and Queensboro right next to each other is beyond my comprehension.
Nah, I grew up near Richmond and spent college years in Charlottesville. Newark was some of my law school years.
