New Reed Sheppard backup option just dropped
Sweet name
Yeah, regardless of where he goes, I will be following Bizjack with great interest with a name like that
Thatās a LAX name
Or a Georgia backup QB.
or Grisham character in one his books set in Memphis
Awesome name, but to me it reads like something bad. Like, the next time I read a post I disagree with, Iām gonna be like āYeah, well thatās just like your opinion, man, and you clearly donāt know Finley Bizjack about the subject.ā
- signed, a person who grade school kids used to call Hiney, so may be a tad bit sensitive about all this
Sets up well for āYou donāt know ājackā and āGive āem the ābizā
watched 3 minutes of highlights. Young Ty Jerome?
I graduated UVa with a dude w/ the actual last name Hiney⦠at least yours was just them changing your last name to be funny.
Alright, I actually watched some Finley Bizjack highlights and I⦠am not totally seeing it. Not to be too negative, but he does not have speed or ups, his handle is somewhat unconvincing, and I feel like 75% of what he is throwing up around the rim would be swatted in college. He is a little crafty, seems to have decent shooting form, and already has some nice floaters, but overall he feels more high mid-major to me (although he does already have offers from Stanford and TCU).
But as I always say, I also donāt know what Iām talking about.
Iām not sure why this type of player is a priority for 23. I get reed Sheppard more than I get why there needs to be a fallback option.
We might as well recruit Gabe Cupps as a back up to Reed (although I know Cupps may be deciding soon).
Seems like a lot of 2023 guys making these very early commitments. Not sure if thereās actually more than normal, or just that UVA has been involved with most of them.
Is there a scholarship crunch in basketball like there is in football? I read that there were many hundreds or even thousands fewer scholarships going to incoming freshmen football players around the country due to the Covid related roster and scholarship rules plus the new transfer portal rules. Guys committing early to make sure they have a spot? NCAA football: Extra year of eligibility wreaking havoc
Iāve just skimmed through all 800+ posts in this thread, and I havenāt seen one addressing roster numbers. At the moment, there are ten scholarship players on the roster. Hopefully, there will be four additions next fall. There are three true 4th yearmen on the roster. Presumably, at least one will not be returning. So, next year the roster will have either 11, 12, or 13 scholarship players. So far, so good. Then, in 2023, the only players who might leave due to graduation would be Franklin and Caffaro, and I am unsure if their departures can be assumed. So, how many scholarships are going to be used in 2023? @HoozGotNext , any thoughts about this? Does Coach Bennett want a reduced roster in the future? I think itās worth noting that the 2022-23 roster will have nine underclassmen (based on the extra year of eligibility), assuming no premature attrition. Does this mean the 2023 recruiting class will be limited to one back court recruit and one front court recruit? Iām just a bit curious.
Theyāre recruiting for three spots in 2023 right now. Heck theyāre only recruiting three players, one for each. That could always change in spring depending on defections and late additions.
Kid has like 30 pounds on everyone else on the floor, haha
yeah lol. I imagine heās in the Gill/Gardner mold forward they value.
