Yeah, gotta be a mix. Fwiw, I am slowly making my way through Intangible, the book about the Bennett era, and it seems that TJ Grams has been “intentional” about getting guys more involved on grounds stuff (e.g., internship for Akil with the BOV, I think, or something like that). But the problem remains that someone like TJ HAS TO BE intentional, b/c it’s less likely to happen organically.
I loved all the Gertrude dunks as much as anyone, but the two threes he knocked down (including the deep one at the end of the short clip) are what got me most excited. No idea what his percentages were across the games, but whatever. If he can combine that athleticism with a solid three-point shot, that’s frightening.
And even in condensed games, where you’re only going to see the other team’s offensive highlights, he stays in front of his man on defense very well. even in that twitter clip, he slips, but he convinced the guy he was guarding to take a bad, low-percentage step back.
Under TB he is gonna become so so so good on defense. Lotta work to get there but we should expect it to happen
Rare to see so much body control in the air as well.
As a cattle rancher (hobby only, 100 cows) I fully endorse this position! Beef - it’s what’s for dinner!
After watching the Blue and White game, I’d say Gertrude fits in to the offense that Tony was running much better than the “sides” offense that we’ve run so much of in the past.
Too often in the past our offense was basically jump shots and if we didn’t have several good shooters it stagnated. I saw that as a long grind for Elijah to become effective. If we’re going to open things up more and spread the floor, it is a much better environment for him offensively.
Accordingly, I’ve updated my prediction. Elijah will only need three redshirt seasons instead of the five I originally predicted.
Actually, I still think it will take some time for him but I could see him getting time his first season in a limited role and playing a lot his second season. Before I figured it would take one more season for him to have a big role.
I think this probly makes sense but these things are so tough to call. He is gonna have a big learning curve when he gets to grounds but has all the tools and more to get up that curve quickly. He is very eager to learn, take advice, and get better. When yiu can do extremely hard things very easily you can get there more quickly.
Mike Curtis is gonna love love Eli too!
Might be a good seperate topic. 20 plus years ago,.i consulted on the Clemson Master.Plan… As a UVA.alum , my thought were on the wide circle of friends - the night discussions in the basement rooms that mixed law students, med students, education students, etc The.model that i.heard from.the.clemson admin was to minimize steps build a nursing dorm that includes food services, classrooms and living arrangements. Four years of college and NEVER go outdoors - slight exageration.
That’s interesting. I recently toured Clemson’s campus and it felt… large. So, putting folks closer together might be nice. I’m really torn on the value of concentrating folks together like that. Its nice to really get to know the other folks in your program, but surely you’re missing out on meeting the other folks at the school outside your program?
These pictures and videos make me legit lol.
Can we get a breakdown here? FIFY and 20 inches
Height = 6-3
Head height in pic = 9-5
Vertical = 20 inches
This is the correct info for pro scouts…
Ahhhhhhh. Got it now

Height = 6-3
Head height in pic = 9-5
Vertical = 20 inchesThis is the correct info for pro scouts…
OK, I’m dense…
Head - 9’5" = 113 "
Height - 6’3" = 75 "
Vertical = 113" - 75" = 38"
Or am I missing something?
Anyone that puts their head/elbows on the rim is a freak.
I think we are trying to downplay what is going on in case bag droppers et alia are following. Hence the 20, promise vert
Told ya, I’m dense…
When he’s signed on the dotted line that vert will go from 20’ to 40’ish real, real quick.
