This season I’d prefer a sweet 16 run. Haven’t had NCAAT success since the championship (only a 2 tournament sample size but still)

I prefer the ACC regular season to the ACC tournament because it shows dominance over the course of the entire season rather than just a hot streak at ACC tournament time. If the Sweet-16 is a win, then I take it over the ACC title, but if it’s a loss then I’d prefer the ACC title (maybe).

The Covid outbreak probably created some rifts on the team … did it lead to McKoy’s transfer? I dunno but it definitely broke our team vibe.
This year, tie w Pitt for reg season title and SS run.

Definitely possible but the Sweet 16 would have been the end of the road. That team wasn’t beating Gonzaga in the Sweet 16.

True. I would have very gladly taken a Sweet 16 that year though. Honestly, given how weird that year was, I wouldn’t have even really been upset by just making it to the Round of 32. Would have been totally fine with it.
The biggest issue with our 2021 tournament performance was that our players were stuck in virtual isolation for a week and could not practice at all until the morning of the game. Fresh can speak better to this than I can about the impact that would have on a team preparing for a tourney game. Every time I’ve heard Tony speak about the Ohio game, he’s mentioned how difficult the Covid isolation made it for his team in preparing for the game.

Would be extremely hard for sure. Some might say unfair. Were guys all isolated in rooms? Awful

Right now, I’d be content w a sweet 16 run, but elite 8 would feel like this team maxed its potential. Pre-season is a different story

Feel like there will be more “what could have been” energy if we kind of stumble down the stretch and Reece is gone after the season.
Which is to say, the team has already done better this year than I expected. But I will be very sad to never see Reece as the captain of the ship if his career just amounts to, like, a 2nd-place ACC finish and a round of 32 loss.
Want some fun results this year or Reece running it back with the young guns next year. (Or both, while we’re dreaming.)

My preference from most to least: ACCT title, Sweet 16, regular season ACC title. But since it’s not a tradeoff, right now I want the one that comes first, the regular season title.

Funny when I played I remember the ACC Tourney winners, not so much regular season winners. Probly cause we were still close to when the tourney winner was all that mattered, I think
Anyhow the ACC tourney then was a BIG deal

Now I feel like winning the tourney is a curse and want 0 parts of it unless it’s our only way in the tourney. Especially after we got taken out by FSU then UVA won it all

Don’t think they were stuck in their individual rooms, but I do recall the players saying they basically could not leave their suite and could not go to JPJ or practice at all.

I think they got like 45 minutes a day they could go in jpj individually is what I remember from articles at the time
