Iām starting to think they canāt keep him. Despite colandrea playing poorly down the stretch, his possible development was the only thing he could sell. Lame duck coach next season will see 10%+ season ticket losses. Weāre getting to canāt afford to keep him territory.

I want to clarify that for every right take Ive had Ive had some scorchingly bad takes, to the point where half of D2 basketball is full of @Hooandtrue dream recruits (but that fact that I have the humility to admit that just shows how superior of a person I am)
Also meh on āTold you soā posts because we all have takes that age well and takes that donāt
That being said
At the same time none of this was a surprise to anyone. Half that thread shared the similar opinion, and even those more optimistic acknowledged these same hurdles but were just choosing to have hope after a bleak ending to the Mendenhall era.

Did Stoops not negotiate an extension with Kentucky after the A&M saga last offseason? Feels like if weāre talking buyouts that one would be pretty steep

Sounds like his buyout is too high for UK to consider getting rid of him.
At the moment, the amount of his contract buyout is a little over $44 million. To be quite frank, that isnāt getting paid, folks.
