I didn’t even make the connection that their sister is Raegan Beers, the big OU center who is one of the top WBB players in the country. She had 26/14 against the Hoos earlier this year.

We do need some new Bronco players on the roster.

Ole Miss would be a stretch. Their backup Austin Simmons looked really good as a freshman in spots this year- I’d imagine he’d be well ahead of AC. Plus, Ole Miss can afford a much higher profile transfer if they want someone else to come in and compete.

I watch/follow a lot of Alabama football and there has been great buzz around this guy for years. He likely has better offers than us (and I think we are Chandler Morris or Preston Stone bound), but I would be super into kicking the tires on him. He could end up like Brock Vandagriff at Kentucky, but I’m not sure that’s a huge downgrade from AC tbh.

Would love to see us make a run at him, but think you’re right that he likely ends up at a school a tier above us.

Hmmm. Alabama back-up QB who has barely played transferring to UVA in a last ditch effort to rescue a dying coaching regime?

As long as he doesn’t turn out to be a chainsmoker we should be fine.

You never know. Eli Holstein was rated higher than Lonergan in the same class and he went to Pitt.

But I agree with you that we’re probably going to get Morris or Stone.

Let’s run it back!!!

Looking at his recruiting profile now and it looks like he was pretty seriously considering Stanford, so maybe there is an academics opening for us…

Other primary recruiters were Kendall Briles while at Arkansas who is at TCU now, and Marcus Satterfield while at South Carolina who is at Nebraska now. Nebraska and South Carolina are set at QB, but could see him at Arkansas or TCU. His primary recruiter at Alabama is now at Auburn, so that could also be an option but as a secondary Bama fan I’d prefer not to think about that.

A couple of Bama Online people are also saying Haynes King may be moving on at GT one way or another and that Lonergan will be a strong option there. He’s from an Atlanta suburb and that sounds like it could be a good academic fit as well.

I’m sad @MaineWahoo beat me to the joke. I’ve never been more disappointed in anything than I was Phil Simms in a UVA uniform in my entire life…

I don’t think we could land him anyways, but please never again with a bama backup QB. Grab any and all linemen moving out of Tuscaloosa though.

Do we have a chicken and an egg kind of thing here? We need to hit a home run (or, even a triple) at QB to get some buzz going, but if I’m a QB who maybe watches some games on tv, I wouldn’t want to commit to us until I saw some talent coming in on the OL. Same for decent RBs.

Shut the program down, it’s over.

Meant to post this yesterday, but Matthew McDoom never made it on his visit here and ended up committing to Cincy. So he’s off the board.
