šŸˆ Football 2024-2025 Transfer Portal Tracker

Does the article say whether it’s for anyone on the 2022 team or only guys who otherwise would’ve exhausted their eligibility in 2022 before (or after) redshirts and Covid exemptions? (Generally whatever is most favorable to the player).

Also Smiley could probably be guaranteed to start at DE here next season, but also understandable that he’d want to try somewhere else after 6 years here.

After 6 years here he’s probably run out of classes to take

We need to get a couple of our guys back out of the portal.

Honestly the only ones I’d like to see back are Wilson, Smiley, and Diatta. Maybe Furnish too but mainly for depth purposes, not too upset about having a new starting Right Guard.

Colandrea’s decision to portal was stupid and emotional. Swallow your pride, hat in hand, return, and lead your team.

From on3:

According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Colandrea has set three trips within the next two weeks. Two dates are confirmed, heading to Ole Miss on Dec. 14 and Pitt on Dec. 16. Syracuse will host the transfer QB as well ā€œsometime next week.ā€

Ole Miss? Would he be 3rd string there?

Agreed. The guys we’re losing are mostly helpful for depth. Only projected starters would be Colandrea, Smiley, Furnish and maybe Wilson. I think most of us would probably be happy getting off the AC roller coaster. Smiley and Furnish are solid, but we could stand to upgrade there (with the caveat that maybe we don’t get upgrades in the portal). And WR might be our deepest position.

Otherwise these are mostly fungible low 3 star type guys who’ve barely seen the field or may never get playing time here or we could get equivalent performance from other guys sticking around or coming in.

Dart and McCord are done, so 2 of those make sense. He could come in with a chance to compete for the starting job. I’d expect Ole Miss to have highly rated, but less experienced competition that I suspect he won’t beat out.

But is Holstein going somewhere? He’d go to Pitt for probably less money than he’s making here to be a backup to a guy with more eligibility left than he has?

So I’m guessing Syracuse although if they haven’t set a date, they might have someone else they prefer and he’s a fallback option.

Nah man. That dude can get all the way out of town. Don’t want him, his ego, or his meddling parents in Cville anymore. He can go be someone else’s headache.

Nah. We know exactly what AC is capable of and he showed his true stripes when adversity struck. He’s not the leader or the player the program needs right now. It’s not his team.

I’m not sure the type of guys we need to fix this team will be interested in us. Like that rivers kid? We have no shot if the other offers list I’ve seen is legit.

Mr. E is a forgiving soul.

Honestly, AC’s entry to the portal is pretty much exactly on brand for how his tenure here has gone.

This is my new #1 target. His brother Rowdy quit football to become a firefighter, no bullshit.

He seems hurt a lot?

Edit: no, ESPN just has incomplete stats.
