Loving the fan response to this tweet. Hosley gotta be feeling the love

The Hoos chain clearly inspired by the Dai Dai chain.

I would be surprised if we couldn’t pay Malachi $500k. Hell TJ Power is probably making close to that.

It’s not just money for Malachi. Virginia football cannot offer what the elite programs can.

We do have a need for a game changer at one of our skill positions, and Claiborne getting over 1,000 yards in the Wake slow mesh offense is impressive. But is it high six, low seven figures impressive? That’s the going rate for proven power 5 production from a RB but am unsure it should be the ballpark we swim in, unless we’re fully behind giving him 250+ carries with a solid plan of what to do along the OL. I would still be behind adding Claiborne as it would be a big dick move from the coaching staff considering he has a similarly large offer on the table from the current #1 team in the country, but I also don’t disagree with you that it could come back to bite us if it costs us landing some better targets at other positions of need.

My expectation is we land someone like J’Mari Taylor or Malachi Hosley for like a tenth of the price range, call it a day at RB and move on to adding some OL targets. Hope we’d still pursue Seldon as well if he’s an affordable option but am guessing he’ll have a host of suitors.

Speaking of J’Mari Taylor…

And like absolute CLOCKWORK, VT mod saying that he’s not a take at VT. They apparently have other guys higher on their board… even though he’s fresh off a visit there. Classic!

Love this potential addition

Think there’s a solid chance they land Roman Hemby, who would be a good add. He’s not Tuten but was productive at Maryland.

If they miss out on him though, would be rough sledding.

I’d gotten a little hopeful about Malachi Hosley, liked that he had two years remaining, but Taylor is a good get too, 1st team all-MEAC running back with 17 touchdowns last year (which led all conference RBs and WRs).

Pairs well with the returning quartet of Griese, Xavier Brown, Donte Hawthorne, and Noah Vaughn, where we’ve got depth and versatility hopefully. Obviously need to add some hoss OL to block for them, but this effectively checks off another position group in the pre-spring transfer math.

Not so fast, my friend

They’re hosting Eli Sanders on Friday it appears. That would be a good pickup for them but again, not Tuten level imo

I’m pretty sure that Wallace Unamba is a silent commit. That would be a really strong first domino to fall in improving the OL room.

What makes you say that? I’ve seen a lot of Kentucky buzz for him on their side. My girlfriend’s brother is a big UK fan and he thinks he’s theirs lol

Is J’Mari legit?

Package deal with Morris dreams are dead.

He absolutely would’ve been an upgrade at both receiver and returner, but positionally speaking he’s a small speedster, which we do at least have options with Courtney and Harrison, both of whom have multiple years left to grow and provide stability.

A Malachi replacement is the big WR need.

He’s been around the block a few times. Would not be surprised if he’s a guy with transfer credit/admissions issues.
