This dude!
I don’t think the “not even considering” part is true. It’s 100% that Carla has parallel conversations up and running to avoid being stuck if we get a “no” from anyone.
Yeah I worded it wrong. We were considering those recruits but nowhere near as much as the first group
honestly if it’s Elliott can we code some logic into the board to autocorrect the spelling so everyone gets it right (two L’s, two T’s). i’m aware this is very much a ME thing (probably b/c my wife’s maiden name and my son’s name are Elliott) but for whatever reason the look of it as “Elliot” just irks me.
i’d rather focus my energy on this than the actual search!
Why don’t we just pay the construction company in football tickets and call it quantitative easing? I can’t think of another way to fill the stands.
TS disagrees
Well, technically the Board committee is still meeting, right? And Elliott’s still in town (I assume), so joy still might come at 4:30.
Or maybe not. I’m honestly really enjoying this, I just selfishly want it to wrap up so it’ll stop distracting me from getting stuff done.
If the administration isn’t going to support the program I don’t see any reason to sink precious fall hours into a program marching towards the cellar
Agreed. You either get wasted or you don’t no such thing as halfway wasted.
Gattis or any power 5 coodinator would have the same snags Elliot had Im willing to bet. Especially when they are coming from the facilities they already have and already make bank as a coordinator.

It’s Elliot and he’s going back home to really think this through. He has turned down bigger jobs (Tennessee last Year) and he also seems to be very thorough in his thought process. He probably wanted to bring his family because he was strongly considering us. Yeah there were probably snags and now he gets to go home and sleep on it while we do what we need to do on our end if we want him .

Go with the head coach route. Jeff Monken may be controversial because of the triple option but he’s a winner, has experience with recruiting with limited resources and restrictions but also excelling in a high standard environment, and helped turn the tide in the Army Navy rivalry. Of course Ive been obnoxious with Blake Anderson, experience being a coordinator in the ACC, has done very well wherever he has gone, and would absolutely be a culture fit, especially with his offensive prowess. Charles Huff is still new to head coaching but has a strong resume including be associate head coach at Alabama and has strong recruiting ties to the area.

Hire Beck or Hagans as interim, keep the offense, and invest all the money on a DC/defense staff. If it goes well keep everyone and promote the interim to head coach. If not, try to hire in a less frantic market.
They should probably hold the next interview entirely over Zoom and re-invest the private jet fund back into the Ops building.
Monken would be great in that way. If we’re going to organizationally half-ass it, may as well get a guy used to half-assed support and who will execute in a weird and distinctive way.
If you can’t be great at least be interesting.
If we can’t hire a coach because the admin won’t commit proper resources to compete, Carla’s probably got her agent looking around. The BOV isn’t giving her the tools she needs to do her job.
Duke is expanding money investments into football. Duke. Duke cares more about football than UVA. ugh.
Seems like Bronco didn’t really think his decision through enough, maybe this is a good thing …
I think he did. UVA didnt support him with the new facilities to boost our program’s recruitng and presence so he bounced. Of course he cares about his players and his time here but I dont think he cares too much about after lol.
Lock it in Tony Elliott will be a Hoo by end of business this week.
So… you’re betting that way?
Edit - Tomorrow afternoon?
