And Duke Miles too, right?
Avdalas to the Hokies potentially could have big implications on their season too

Also Luca Foster update seems like heās most likely going to stay in state (Penn State, Villanova, Pitt St Joes, and Marquette schools mentioned)
Oh snap that North Carolina kid @DFresh11 and @AdventiveQuasar like is visiting Duke. And a 2025 reclass

Yessir. Blew up like his name was TJ Peach JamPower. But he can actually dunk
Interesting. Saw he didnāt play the last round of EYBL games, assumed he was injured.
As Fresh is saying, he can elevate (look at clips #1 and #4 this video in addition to the first 2 clips on that IG post):
Heās got a little sauce to his game off the dribble.

NCAA possibly taking a look at another Belgianās eligibility today?
Iāve suspected that different schools (and different players) have different thresholds for when they feel comfortable announcing/leaking a commit with these international guys. Iām not assuming all of these guys have their eligibility squared away, even the ones doing photoshoots (recall that it took well into the season for Fedor Zugicās eligibility and appeal process to play out, and he was with the team at that point).
Seems relevant that UVA hasnāt announced a single transfer yet, not even the guys doing photoshoots.
The Stanford commit is an 18 year old so that should be pretty straightforward, especially if Stanford is on board with him academically.
Agree. To be reductive, what makes de Ridderās case complicated, I assume, is (1) his age, and (2) the amount of $$ he made in the Spanish ACB.
So according to NCAA rules, D1 student athletes are supposed to enroll in college no more than 12 months post-graduation and the 4 seasons in 5 years clock starts when they enroll. Then thereās the military/religion exceptions. And exceptions for pregnancy, internships and studying abroad, but for those I think they have to be enrolled first.
So if heās 22, and he played for a local Belgian team in 20-21 and in Spain in 23-24 and 24-25, Iām guessing he finished HS in 22 and itās been 3 years, so they have to find 2 years of exceptions or maybe they only give him 3 years to complete 3 years of eligibility, but he canāt finish college in 3 years so UVA canāt take him?
If he finished HS in 21 that makes the case even harder, maybe impossible. If he finished in 23, that should be a no brainer. Gap year, deemed redshirt year, then college for 4 in 4.
And then the money/amateurism considerations for your point 2. Anything above actual and necessary travel/living expenses. HGN said 70k, but I wonder if thatās per year. And I find it completely plausible that a 20-21 year old would make less than 70k/season for a mid-table team in Spain.
Good for Ron! Hope he does well!
Put Scott Drew on retirement watch
Lots of Ryan Odom mention. Had been recruiting him (DaRon Holmes younger bro) at VCU. Sounds like UVA is serious about him.
Between him and Christian Gibson, it sounds like one spot in the 2026 class is dedicated to āLeft handed scoring guard who is high usage but not a pgā.
āBut this summer I should be taking a lot,ā Holmes said. āI have no idea where yet. My only visit set up is Oregon Sept. 20. But thatās about it⦠I know Iāll probably try to make it out to North Carolina. Already Oregon. Virginia, Iāll try to make it out to Virginia. Thereās a lot more.ā
Wonder if we could get a Hand homecoming for his redshirt senior year if he graduates from BC Spring 2026.
Still mad about Tony cooling on DaRon Holmes. That family loved UVA and we probably couldāve gotten an early commitment.
