We good
Hargraveās Shane Pendegrass was the pangas top 60 game MVP (not top 30) and heās had a really good spring.
Him and Dreylan Creasy (Blue Ridge) Iām curious to see if they get offers.
Darius Bivins the pg out of Arlington VA has also been playing well and I see is visiting Texas Tech. But kinda overlaps with Chance Mallory
Bivins would have been a great Tony Bennett point guard.
There were 25,000 international students competing in NCAA sports in D1, D2 and D3 last year? That sounds like an impossibly large number.
Also no update on the visa interview pause. Hopefully theyāll start again soon.
25k is plausible. There are 500k student athletes across all 3 divisions, so the international student percentage would be 5% of athletes. The percentage of students overall that are international is 6ish, lower for undergrads only.
Probably already posted and I missed it
Cody Peck interview at Adidas Euro. No Specific school mentions but seems level headed. Talks about how his agent talks about āwe have to think the long termā in response to schools mentioning cash and NIL upfront which he says is a turn off for him. Also talks about how kids who big aspirations 3 years later arenāt close to making the league and transferring around; wants a place that develops him.
Really good but unsurprising 2026 recruit for ND. His dad is the new strength coach.
If staff isnāt fired, Burton Sanderson might be the best back court in the ACC next season for Notre Dame
NBPA top 100 camp today. Assuming full staff is there @HoozGotNext
Allmond, Fred Smith Jr, and Junior County all on the same team, thatās nice and convenient for our staff.
Odom Griff Crawford Theus are todayās 4some
Free streams (I think)
The one day in like the last 3 months Iām swamped with work is today fml
I tuned in a little. First thing I saw was turnover followed by the other team turning it over, followed by a horrendous contested midranger off the dribble against double coverage. Not sure youāre missing much.
Latrell Allmond with 23 pts 6 blocks in the first game.
Also that #1 2027 dc kid kinda sucks/getting exposed a little. Like an agent letting their lottery pick kill their stock participating in the nba combine
Fred Smith 4pt quiet game.
Julius Avent continues to have a really good summer (PSA Cardinal forward with UVA interest).
Camp basketball is so horrible. Coaches being there is pointless. But since theyāre allowed, they have to go. All it does is give them a convenient āevaluationā of a recruit so they can offer if they want to.
Unfortunate name aside, and assuming the obvious that Jordan Smith Jr ends up at Duke, Adolph the Third would be a really good fit with Christian Gibson as our two guards in the 2026 class. Would be relying heavy on Mallory hitting and Gertrude being one step closer to healthy
You really have to wonder how important these camps will be moving forward. If the transfer portal remains as it is, how many prospects will want to commit in the fall before they learn who will be joining the program in the spring? Of course, with the House settlement in place, weāre probably going to see multi-year contracts as opposed to LOIs pretty soon, so who knows what the future really has in store? Regardless, you have to think that the importance of these spring and early summer prep events are going to lose significance. Yes, they will continue as opportunities to evaluate, but I imagine the decision making process has just been extended by six months or so. For both parties.
