All true …
For comparison:
they beat their 2 MEAC opponents by 26 and 26.
UVA beat their 2 MEAC opponents by 12 and 27.
Yes
These #s are reflective of who they’ve played. JMU is solid, but they would be a middle of the pack ACC team at best. They might beat us on Tuesday because we’re banged up and stuff happens. But they’re not world beaters. At best, they’re the 4th best team we’ve played so far.
Glad that all MEAC teams are the same. Just like how BC and UVA are equivalent teams because they are in the ACC
Woah, imagine if we played Belarmine this year or Lipscomb. Check their offensive numbers
Remember when Papi went to maul faces with Argentina that weekend? Something told me that was telling
I’m a bit worried but not a lot as well. But to be clear, they are about 100 spots higher in KenPom. Puts them around Wake. If Reece was healthy I’d be zero worried.
Dude you have some sneaky random knowledge. Respekt
JMU feels like it could be McKneely’s breakout game
Of course they are.
Seems so far NC Central is the best performing MEAC team. Only one that has a positive SRS.
Of course 3 of their 5 wins are against non D1 teams.
If you’re scared of JMU you’re doing it wrong.
Define breakout
Maybe not a breakout. But this feels like a game where he could score in double figures against a real opponent. It will also depend how good Reece is feeling.
He’s bound to have a game where he comes in against a real opponent and hits two quick 3s and ends the night with like 12 points on 3-6 from 3 and a couple of free throws
Hope so… according to ESPN he is averaging 17 minutes per game at 4.4 points. For a first year he is on track to become big time.
As far as his shot, I personally dont like the change, but am not gonna question TB or IMac there. They are grooming for medium and long term I think he could go between the two types of shots depending. As people have noticed/ alluded to.
The 4 foot in the air jumper we call the Poca.
Shed’s uniform for the next month:
He’s also been having to shoot against really physical, athletic teams like Baylor, Illinois, FSU. I hope JMU could be an opportunity to shoot against another team running a 3-guard lineup. Either way, I think learning to be a uva guard against these really physical teams early on will pay dividends down the line. I loved seeing him hunt the shot against fsu even if they didn’t all go down, it will be much easier to get those shots down against smaller, less physical teams.
Against the physical type teams I would prefer The Poca… solid point. It is just different but he sees that in practice daily dont forget
Oh I wasn’t positing on the jump shot change. I was more saying that he is bound for a good night if plays aggressive like he did against FSU because most teams don’t guard like FSU.
I also do wonder how much practice he gets every day on the offense stuff? I joked that I want him to just spend a weekend trying to run around screens while Dunn and Reece chase him. If he can do it against them he can do it against anyone.
Interesting side note. We sat near the McKneely’s for the Blue/White scrimmage and IM’s girlfriend was with his parents. I can’t remember exactly but she’s either at JMU, or was a year behind him and looking at JMU next year.
Fresh just landed O’hare Chitown. First thing I see cute little kid in an VaTech hat!
