Dependent on his health. But worth the gamble. Feel like salary cap space is really all they’re risking.
To put into perspective, since 2017 Malcolm Brogdon has played in fewer games than Ben Simmons during that same span (not including playoffs).
So he’s only played more than 2/3 of his teams regular season games twice in his career (Rookie Year he played 75, third year he played 64). If the Celts are a championship team, you’re looking at potentially another 20 playoff games.
I also wonder whether Justin Anderson is going to get another chance or if he decides to take the plunge and head overseas. He did well in the G League, but he hasn’t quite been able to hang onto a roster spot in a while now.
Also, anybody know if Mike Scott has just hung it up completely or if he’s going overseas or something?
I know Brad is working with Ainge’s pieces, but it feels like in 15ish months on the job he is already out performing his predecessor. I’m also extremely harsh on Ainge his handling of those multiple picks.
Eh, we’ll see how long that plan lasts. Given Robert Williams’ injury history and Horford’s age, I think Brogdon will start a decent amount of the time (assuming his own health)
Hate seeing Brogs off the bench but don’t think it’s the worst. As several have mentioned zid imagine the Cs lineup changes and adapts as the season progresses. Also could see Brogs closing more games than he starts. Last coming off the bench could save him some wear n tear and have him playoff ready
BROGDON could be a legit super sixth man able to realistically plug in at the 1-3 on a team like the Cs. If it could help him manage his health, it could also be the key to him earning another 50-80 million in the nba, and maybe even get a ring.
Any rumblings on Kyle, Mike Tobey, Mamadi, etc. Kyle worked out with LA last week and still haven’t heard Tobeys plans after Valencia, figured Dallas might bite on that Olympics combo, and what’s the word with Mamadi?
