Another solid outing for Jay in his second summer league game. 10 pts, 6 rebs, and 3 blocks in 16 minutes, shooting 2-6 from the field, 1-3 from three, and 5-5 from the line.

He might actually make the 15 man roster. The Lakers currently only have 1 true Center in Damian Jones, who will likely start lots of games when AD doesn’t want to play the 5. The only other guy on the roster who can play center is Wenyen Gabriel and he’s like 6’8”

New post from Damin. Important year coming up for Dre. I don’t think the Hawks will extend him this summer (even tho he’s now eligible) so he’ll have to prove it during the season to get that big second contract.

The handle is important, but I think if Dre shot above 38% from 3 this year and was able to stay healthy all season, he would get 4 for 80 if not a little more. The handle can come with time, but he needs those fundamentals to really be on show, especially now that the hawks have Murray
I sorta remember someone on this board linking an article or maybe a tweet that the Hawks were likely to extend Dre this summer, but maybe that’s changed (or I’m mis-remembering)?

Its possible. I am being pessimistic since I think most smart NBA people I follow agree that he was pretty disappointing this year based on what he showed in year 2. But everything I’ve seen says the Hawks brass are still super high on him so

Entering the offseason everything I heard down here said they were looking to extend Dre this summer and get that squared away. I think that got thrown off because of how Free agency is shaking out. For as much as they like him, with players like KD on the market Hunter becomes too nice a trade option to take off the board.
The Hawks have until Oct. 17ish to sign the extension on him. If they do and they max it then he will occupy a designated rookie max something or other. And a team only gets 2 of those. They may be looking for a way to avoid that and perhaps sign someone else. I’m pretty Trae took 1 which makes sense.
