It just means they have his rights if he were to come back to the G-League.
Thanks for the explanation. Glad Kyle is getting noticed by the NBA. He seems to be enjoying it and doing well in Europe. Would love to see him on a NBA roster at some point though.
My note to KG after he heard the news about Portland GLeague
Life in Foreign basketball leagues … this book authored by a dude from my alma mater after 10 years abroad … pretty cool:
I dont really follow the NBA but 5M for 2 yrs doesnt seem all that great. What is the league min?
Around 2M for a guy with his years of experience, I think, depending on what the new CBA ends up at. These figures are from the CBA that applied this past season: NBA Minimum Salaries
So it’s a little better than the minimum, and it’s certainly better money than a two-way (which he would no longer be eligible for anyway). Most importantly, it’s a roster spot.
Thank you for the explanation.
It’s solid money for what’s essentially a journeyman player at this point
It’s kinda crazy to put pro sports salaries into perspective. Yes, the contract Ty just signed is modest by NBA standards.
I’m almost 50, and hope to retire by 55…maybe just do some part-time work to keep busy. Despite a good/comfortable salary, my career earnings won’t come all that close to the $5M Ty will get in the next 2 years on a “modest” contract.
Good perspective… 25 years making $200k a year which is great = Ty’s next 2 years
Andrew Abbott is the 1st pitcher since 1900 to record at least 40 strikeouts while allowing 5 or fewer runs in his first 6 career games.
Shout out riffs- TIL that zydraunas ilgauskas had his jersey retired.

Is the summer league going to be on the NBATV?
I believe so.
