Hoos Going Pro 2022-23 NBA Season

Eh. Dre’s issues are almost entirely injury related. Which, now that I think about it, isn’t a shock.

Did Dre sign his new contract? Dont remember hearing how much he got

Not yet. Apparently they were far apart this summer

Yeah after giving Trae and Collins all that $$$ Hawks have to be conservative with Dre’s contract. I am feeling 2/3rds chance he is not a Hawk next year unless he has an awful season and Signs 3/45 or something

True … but availability is the best ability

3/45 is probably fair market value for him right now if not a little high.

Kinda agree with this. Take off the orange n blue glasses and Dre could be considered a project. Has some Otto Portor vibes to him interms of potential slow start and needing the right fit to unlock it. Otto got screwed with the big 2nd contract that made him almost unusable. But now is making up for it on no3

Yeah and to be honest i have some concerns about Dre in the league. Most notably he always just looks slow on his feet especially on defense

He lacks spring. Which you can work around but it feels like he’s kinda in-between roles. Not quick enough or a sure enough ball handler to be a slasher. Not consistent enough to be a stretch catch n shoot. Not big enough to truly hang as a 4.

But with the exception of the speed part he is close enough and capable enough to learn those skills so it makes him an interesting prospect

If he can shoot >38% from 3 on the season and hit the mid range jumper all will be fine I think

Yup both of which are attainable and why I think he’ll get the opportunity at least.

Just drafted for my first ever fantasy basketball league. Almost took Dre late, but somebody else snagged him. I do have Malcolm though. I know he’s coming off the bench but if he stays healthy, maybe could be a steal.

@MaineWahoo Sending Robert Williams to IL and put in a waiver claim for Sam Hauser. Hoping to keep it competitive, but if the stars align I have

6MOY Malcolm, contract year Dre, MIP Trey, and Joe.

I’ve never done fantasy NBA but over thevlast 2 or 3 yrs my fandom has grown enough that I’d enjoy it or at least be competent.

That is a Hoo heavy team. I love it.

I should have thought of Trey Murphy. Dang. Might have to pick him up.

My team is… eh. But it’s my first time. We’ll see how it goes.

And Jay too

Mamadi played well enough in the preseason that I’d hope another team will pick him up, at least for a two-way deal. Jay I’m guessing should head to Europe sooner rather than later, but maybe another team will give him a shot, or maybe he rocks out in the G league again. Will be interesting to see.

NBA is wild. Seems you can hang around a while but then you are just gone.

If I were their life coach, they should both go to Europe. That deal where you bounce around between G-league teams and 10-days and training camps is no life. Better to have fun and a good paycheck in Europe, and maybe one day you come back like Gill (but you don’t count on that).

I agree with this. Give it 1 or 2 years maybe but at some point you kinda have to know. Tobey seems to have figured it out as well
