Hoos Going Pro 2022-23 NBA Season

Tobey and KG got it right.

The salary cap situation in the NBA is so fickle it’s tough for those fringe guys to lock in

Jay married and assume family in the future may be smart to follow KG and Tobey lock in to stability for a yr or 2 can always pull a Gil and come back

Also i don’t think Jay’s wife has an office job. So shouldn’t be too bad to move and make a few hundred thousand while enjoying the Mediterranean lifestyle

Do they still have the 2 foreigners per team limit overseas?

Does it depend on the league?

Am sure it does. I remember in my time it was two foreigners per team (Americans usually) but that was also pre EU etc

It’s similar rules for rugby. EU passholders get a pass foreigners are nz au ans us

This is dated (2013), but has the rules for the various leagues. In Spain, for example, the rule was a minimum of four local players.

I think only 2 foreign guys would definitely be one of the more restrictive rules.

Something in Mamadi’s game where NBA teams just don’t see him in the League. Produced every time he gets the chance.

Guessing he’s too much of a tweener.

I think he has a similar issue/solution as Dre. If Mamadi can become a consistent threat from deep he becomes a streatch 4. Without it he’s a tweaner like you said a bit too small to physically handle the true 4s and 5s in the league and not a skilled enough ball handler or shooter to be a threat or stay with an opposing wing.

Another thought could be dye his hair back blonde and go full Worm and chase every rebound.

Mamadi has all of the same weird fit issues as john Collins

I hope I’m wrong, but I have a bad feeling that Joe Harris’s continuing foot/ankle issues means he’s not going to be on the court anytime soon for the Nets.

He’s not good to go for opening night?

Hmm… don’t like the sound of that

Nash downplayed it – something like “lingering soreness is expected” but I agree it seems ominous.

Yeah, he’s been out 9 months give take it. I understand that actual camp and pre-season games are more than offseason training but doesn’t feel good that the $70mil man is already feeling banged up on week 0.

I think he was initially on an Exhibit 9 contract, so they couldn’t convert it straight away to a 2-way. Hoping this finalizes.

Forward Mamadi Diakite, who was with #Cavs in training camp and preseason, has cleared waivers. Cavs are planning to bring him back on a two-way contract, sources tell @clevelanddotcom. But there are a few hurdles both sides need to clear before that happens.
