Have to address Ty is 212 not 914 in good games and bad ones. Donovan knows better.
NYC and its surrounding area seem to be retaining some high level kids they were losing to boarding schools. Several good players in the NYC Catholic league and in NJ. As you know, Elijah Gertrude is highly touted and selected UVA as did Ryan Dunn (516 or 631). However, NYC Not a simple basketball recruiting culture. The obstacles and challenges of recruiting NYC are coaches having to navigate through a host of people including hs coaches, aau coaches, handlers, parents, friends, and now agents with NIL.
One of the Conundrums is do you spend time recruiting a NYC kid, who is a long shot or recruit in the areas with solid long term relationships or in areas where itâs not necessarily a cesspool.
I love NYC basketball!!! I only wish it wasnt so unsavory. If NYC had fewer handlers and ethical aau programs, UVA would have a stronger presence.

212 is the origin area code for nyc like 914 is for Westchester.
646 grew out of the need for more telephone numbers in the nyc area.
