Interesting question, my guess is they like having the asset of the 1st round pick (wasn’t that what they used for Murray?) Also assuming it came down to straight numbers for the Hawks, they have a lot of salary tied up in a few guys and Huerter was the odd man left out.

I hope what we saw in there did not include his 4 assists. If so, it is ridiculous what the NBA counts as an assist. For instance, standing at the 3 pt line he passes to Tatum, also behind the line, who head feints and then takes 3 or 4 dribbles to be bucket for a layup. One or two others not much more involvement by Brogs than that.
I presume that those plays were part of his assist total, since it was a Brogs highlight video and he had no particular involvement in those plays other than being the last player to pass it to the guy who scored.
As a person with Malcolm on my fantasy team - count them all as assists! If he’s even near the play, count it.

Entertaining Nets-Celtics game tonight. With KD out, Joe got the start for the Nets. He’s much better starting than coming off the bench, and it showed tonight. 18 points and 4-7 from three. Simmons almost had a double-double without scoring a point.
Malcolm looked good as well. Had 16 points in 20 minutes. Good mix of threes and drives.
At one point, Joe, Malcolm and Sam were out there together.
Nets will win some games without KD but IMO struggle in those against top tier teams. But Joe will have an opportunity to get his groove back.
