Rules for thee, not for me. One of the reasons I don’t watch professional sports anymore. Why I haven’t watched the NBA in decades. Why I watch very little TV and fewer and fewer movies.
From the same franchise that brought us Latrell Sprewell choking PJ Carlesimo at a practice.
- kick him off the team
- suspend him several games
- duke like suspension of half a practice

And by “decking” I mean like in the video…talking trash from 20 feet away, being the only player to advance, get in the guys face and then try to knock him out when he has the audacity to push you away. That wasn’t a heat of battle punch IMO.
Duke is somewhat clever which is
- announce an indefinite suspension
- press interprets indefinite as long and appropriate
- once uproar dies down end suspension, usually before next game
If they actually announced a short suspension there would be more outrage.
Ugh
It’s savvy PR. Don’t let the public deter you from your goals.
I hate Duke but I get it.
Damn, a few teammates? I guess Dragon isn’t really a nick name eh?
Lol yeah I actually do get it- but something about Draymond’s history. I feel like karma is going to come for him at some point.
Knowing Tony that guy would be off of the team. I mean Austin got kicked off for “mistreating himself”, this is a teammate mistreating another teammate.
Man it’s so hard to say because it’s so far outside the realm of things we’ve heard about under Tony. Mike London would start him the next game though
@davethewave do you think it’d only be half a practice for everyone or just Kihei?
Haha yea… I went through a phase where I was a total ass. Once punched the team captain straight in the face because I didn’t think we were training hard enough I wanted to bring an edge to training… I was a little off the wall at times. And yes I earned the name Dragon.
I do think Draymond’s history and image don’t help him at all here even if there is some excuse/justification for his actions he’s lost all his benefit of the doubt chips.
Also didn’t Ty chuck a ball at Kihei? Or has that myth been debunked? Know it’s not the same but sure is a great way to start something…
Hey Doug I think it’s time for you to get the downlow story from Mark via Ty about what really happened.
Variables matter for sure. Throwing a basketball at a teammate isn’t like throwing a punch. Just as throwing say, a baseball at a teammate, isn’t the same as throwing a basketball.
What I see in that clip isn’t heat of battle. I understand that. You had two players talking shit. But only one player walked 20 feet to escalate. Only one player got in the others face. And only one player threw a punch. And that wasn’t an “I’m angry” or “get off me” punch. He was trying to hurt him. Badly.
Lol … probably Malcolm too …
All I know is in the heat of training Ty may take you out with an errant “pass”. Was my asshole move back in the day
For me if you throw elbows or push or wrestle some it is very different. When a guy full on assaults another guy where you can literally kill them nah man you out of the equation. Like Grayson Allen and tripping. F that
Smart call bones in your hand are the most fragile in your body, no sense in risking a broking digit when you can just wrap someone up and take them down and still prove your point. Dragon learned that lesson after 2 broken knuckles.
True- as a kid we all took Tae Kwon Do, but now as an adult you’ve got to get that Muy Thai game together.
Poole shoulda taken lessons from Nolan Ryan
Poole had NO chance. Unreal shot by Draymon. Great clip though
