I donāt think this has been mentioned yetā¦ Mariah Shayok is playing for South Sudan. They got their first ever win today over Puerto Rico and will play the US on Tuesday. Shayok scored 15 in the victory.
Edit for correction: discussed halfway up the thread, I missed it. Anyways, still rooting for him to do well.

My Patriotism will not allow me to 2nd this. I want to see Shayok put into Jtrue Holiday jail and end up going a cool 4/17 with 2 TOās and the USA boat races south Sudan.

Theyāre fine. The rest of the world has gotten real good and FIBA ball is variance-y with the shorter 3PT line, and teams getting to be super physical.
Edit: Lol imagine helping off Kevin Durant to stop a drive in the paint. Gotta adjust the pack-line principles there!

Joel Embiid and Jrue Holiday shouldnāt be starting imo. Would prefer more of a pick n roll big/mobility defender like Bam or Davis at the 5.
Feel like Embiid is the reason for these slow starts (of course analytics will prove me wrong but damnit my gut canāt be wrong)

Nah Iām an Embiid fan but I agree, need someone more mobile like AD or Bam to start with the group. Definitely canāt be starting Embiid with Steph cause they were targeting that pair to start

I have to say I donāt understand FIBA reffing. In some cases mugging is perfectly OK and other times refs call touch fouls. Also I guess thereās no such thing as a moving screen. Not that it disadvantages the U.S., but itās just weird.
