Once youāre away from the system like that for a year or so itās virtually impossible to re-enter. Heās better off leaning into coaching now. And frankly, I think thatās why Bennett pulled him in. Get him a year head start because he knew he was gonna be done. Heās the only one of the Big 3 (plus Huff and Mamadi) that arenāt still grinding at the NBA dream.

I couldnāt remember the NBA service time rules, so I think I eyeballed that he played 31 games in 3 years and substituted MLB service time rules in my head.
Anyway, NBA rules are if youāre on an active roster for even 1 day in a season, you accrue a full season of service time. Good for Jay on getting 2 guaranteed years and 2 partials. Thatās better than most 2 way conversions.
