🏀 In-Season Recruiting 2023-24

“It’s a complicated recruitment as is often the case for elite prospects.”

“Complicated” doing a lot of work here :joy:

God bless Tony for trying.

UConn had its full staff in to see London Jemison play vs Vermont Academy (which has a few studs including Joson Sanon who UConn was most likely there for specifically)… yuck.

Do you know who played really well against Vermont Academy recently though? That’s right. KJ Cochran #offerthekid

That’s probably it for Jemison. UConn wouldn’t do that and not pull the trigger on him.

The main attraction was on the other team. Joson Sanon. We’ll see.

Man Sharma is a well traveled man. Canada FIBA. Nike Peach jam and North east high school tournaments. Now FEIA is going to spain to play in an invitational with a few euro U19 clubs. (also remembered Guy left Spain for Greece. Woulda been cool to have a Hoo alum show him around).

Ironically, Guy left Badalona for Greece and Tobey left Barca for that KK team right below it (I know these are the junior teams)

I might drive to Charlottesville and tell the cameraman to keep the camera still during time outs. I’m getting seasick.

Reminds me of when Diakite wasn’t committed yet. The staff + players showed up to his Blue Ridge game to show how serious they were

Mallory is undeniably a bucket.

Damn this is a conflicting game.

Chance Mallory right now has a more advanced offensive game than Kihei ever did. Really is Carsen Edwards like. Unreal when he gets hot, scoring streaks on his own. Literally no one can stop him (and Miller has a few mid major kids and young Delaurier who is committed to Mississippi st I believe)

But man he is a sieve on defense they get the mismatch and work it.

Nijel Pack at Miami? Chance shows better vision though

I watched the highlights of his last game against Moravian Prep who has Eli Ellis (4 star PG committed to So Car), and yeah he struggled a lot on defense. Definitely a work in progress on that end, realistically he just needs to be passable and you surround him with wings on the perimeter but it would be nice to have all guys 1-5 be standouts on that end in the packline.

Still on the Mallory train though. No derailment.

I will say, as someone who months ago was like “Chance is awesome but I do like the length Acaden Lewis could bring to his position”… It really isn’t close as to how much better a player chance mallory is than either of the dc kids (Dixon and Lewis).

If it’s only one scholarship Im still team stevens but I wouldn’t be upset with Chance at all and completely understand how staff view him as both a want and a need (even though Ill be nostalgic for the perimeter defense we have this year)

I mean I say you get both and run Stevens as a small ball 4 Nova style with that 6’10 wingspan. But I’m also just a random dude on the internet.

Jay Wright was really magical. In a day where 6’9 forwards want to be guards, he had a way of convincing 6’5/6’6 wings to play center.

Laughing because STAB had a better court storm than GT did when they beat Dook.
