šŸ€ In-Season Recruiting 2023-24

Gotta find a way to get him and Mallory

@Richan34 am seeing more and more of those type passes in HS and college. Shit DJ Big Daddy Burns burned us with one

True you know I love what I have seen from Acaden, Elliot Perry clone. BUT something tells me he may have some really wild not good plays that dont make it to twitter

Homework is for @Hooandtrue to watch an entire game of Acaden Lewis please

I’ve already watched a few and yeah he can be inconsistent at times.

Just tell Harris and Sahara that they are not in the rotation next year

Now, I want him! But also now realize we won’t get him. Haha.

I refuse to watch these clips knowing damn well this will end in pain.

that was absolutely filthy

He was always waiting on something … otherwise he would have pulled the trigger for us a while back.

He’s in the 2025 class. Would be real surprised if he, or any other 2025 recruit, was committed at this point. His original class is 2024 and do think that is in play. I suspect it all depends on roster turnover in March/April.

I’m not sure I understand this. He’s not even done with his junior HS season. Very few guys are committed at this stage. Would his AAU director going to Maryland change things? Maybe. But feel like it’s a stretch to say he was waiting for that.

You want to say that about Keels, Kon, Power? Sure, I agree with that.

I read that Duke is recruiting Nate Ament. He’s from northern Virginia, so unless Duke runs out of scholarships I assume that’s where he’ll go.

We should offer Mallory. We just shouldn’t promise him playing time. If he’s good enough to play here, that will earn him playing time. I read that he may move from the Class of 2025 to 2024.

I saw where Virginia Academy has a freshman center who is listed at 7-0. Okay, now he’s listed at 6-11 205. He’s very thin and not really a prospect yet, but he can block a shot now and then. Their team was really bad this season.

Mallory and Ament have both been offered. Some time ago in fact.

That is a great fit for him. Play fast and with 4 good sized athletes on the floor.

Hmmm! AU is getting Tahaad so this is the counter. Clever…

I love when "we’re feeling great "and ā€œfeeling in a good spotā€ for our #1 recruit. It lets us all know well in advance that we are getting our hearts broken.

Maybe the hometown hero stuff comes through for us, and TB offering a while ago. But I imagine he sees things like last Saturday: Tennessee 111, UVA 49 and thinks, ā€œWell now.ā€

@HoozGotNext remind me: are we pitching Mallory on coming in next season, effectively using his sr. year as a redshirt year, and then having him play in 25/26?

Tennessee has opened things up a lot this year with Knecht but Barnes isn’t typically known for pretty offense either

Agreed on Barnes/Tennessee. They are mostly running the same actions they always do, which are borrowed heavily (exactly?) from Davidson’s motion offense (see Xs and Os thread for example video). But when they’ve run the same actions in the past, it’s often ended up with a lot less threes than Davidson takes; I think this is probably because of differences in their personnel but it also might be a coached strategy.

UVA would welcome Mallory or 2024 or 2025, whatever he wants.
