Funny i was telling my wife yesterday how understated lacrosse is as a sport. The athleticism and skill needed to play at a high level are slept on

If you arenāt good at Baseball, basketball, or football, and you are 5ā8-5ā10ā itās a great sport. Canāt quantify hockey but I do know a bunch of hockey guys play lacrosse growing up in Canada. Itās a great alternative for kids who arent good at the big 3 sports and are undersized. But nobody, and I mean nobody is elite athletically. Except the one guy who played for the Patriots and Jim Brown. Thatās it. Those two donāt count. If you have two examples in 50 years you donāt get a seat at the table.

I have climbed Everest. I got @HoozGotNext to comment on my notion that lacrosse is a sport for kids to play who arenāt good at other sports during the transfer period!!!
Itās a fun sport. Check. Itās and active sport. Check. But it is Tier 4 athletically. For instance, Kihei and or Reece would be the two best lacrosse players in the country if they grew up playing it. Not even close. Thatās my premise.
Edit: Great hair on the players though. Itās Tier 1 hair for sure.

Iāve always thought the same when I watch the winter olympics. Like take your average NFL cornerback and give him an expert to train with for a few months. Canāt tell me that guy wonāt dominate the shit out of speed skating.

And then go down 7 levels from international speed skating and you have lacrosse. But your right.

Havs bringing the hate for real. I will say it doesnāt habethe ultimate athletes playing it. But i put it above baseball every day of the week 10 times on Sunday. Baseball is a stolen base away from being golf.

My son played lacrosse for his middle school team as a 8th grader. Never played it before but wanted to try it out. All the kids on his middle school team play ātravel lacrosseā and go around the country playing in tournaments. He didnāt know the rules, but they gave him a long stick for defense and he played. Here is all I heard:
āSo and so is ranked and this kid is getting looked at by Hopkinsā.
āThe team we are playing is top 5 in The stateā
āThe attackman is unreal, getting recruited by everyoneā.
Everyone basically was mediocre.If you took his hoop team or his baseball team (all committed athletes), and they practiced for 2-4 weeks, they donāt lose to anyone.ā I am sure there are exceptions but lacrosse was always Full of small, nice kids who love what they do. Again, a great sport Iād you canāt throw, hit, shoot, or kick.

Oh god. I canāt. But I donāt think they would argue they are athletes either. Thatās the difference.
Boooo @BDragon !! Look at the lacrosse kids compared to the baseball kids. Itās like like comparing thoroughbreds to donkeys.

Working as a SC in Nova for yrs Iāve seen my fair share of both athletes walk through my doors and while there are some good athletes playing baseball. There are a billion avg to out of shape ones. Also any sport where you cant hit your opponent in the mouth is a childrens game not a sport.

Random note knew a girl who was a usa national team caliber rugby player who got asked to tryout for the womens bobsled team after coaches saw her sprint work while she was in Chula Vista. She barely missed out on the 2010ish gamesvwas beat out by LoLo Jones

I agree. But the kids that are my sons age and are committing to baseball are much better athletes than the lacrosse kids in FL. Football and basketball get the best kids. Then baseball. Then fishing (shout out Bass Tech) Then soccer tennis etc. then lacrosse. Just arenāt impressed by the size:speed/power aspect of lacrosse. Itās like a regular sport, just with worse athletes.
