If Kyle was 6’5 he likely would have only been here 2 years.
If he was 6’5” he’d be Tyler Herro
Now I’m thinking about other players being 6’5”
6’5” Kihei = Russell Westbrook
6’5” Jay Huff = Evan Nolte
Huff is a much better 3 point shooter than Nolte was
And a better defender, and better offensive game, etc
If Traudt is 6’10 and has a shot as advertised, decent lateral quickness, and a handle he is league bound in two. We overestimate when people will go but we also underestimate too. To me you gotta follow the physical tools/frame/athleticism and go from there
I’m laughing that no one had any problem with suggesting this kid would be better than a guy whose number is retired but going pro early is a bridge too far lol
Little known fact: Gill is still deaf in his left ear
Surprised AG didnt bow him in the mouth for that
I’m actually not sure Huff was a better defender than Nolte. I mean, obviously Jay was an elite rim protector, but I remember a decent number of metrics showed Nolte consistently being one of the best, if not the best, defender on the team in his later years. He was taller than people remember, always gave 110%, and played the packline perfectly.
And ESPN had him at #52 in his class in high school, roughly comparable to Traudt. His shooting ended up as a disappointment, but the rest of his game was solid.
I am gonna give credit to the pack line on this observation and also to Nolte for learning it and being a pack line defender. Jays highlights on D show up more of course with huge block shots etc

I don’t think sheep are hatched… but chickens
are…
I like hatchets - very useful.
Short video of who I think Traudt can emulate in the ACC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdL6FZSL_bs
Traudt liked this tweet by @brogdonfanpage

Yea ngl that surprised me haha. Thought he wouldn’t like the whole playing small ball five thing, would prefer the perimeter label but hey who knows. Or maybe he just likes the tweet cuz its about him lol
Youtube algorithm treating me, during my night shift, with a 15 minute upload of Traudt’s highlights from the summer just posted. Time to overanalyze
Edit: some of these are from last year as well I think. Short hair = last year. Michael Cera hair = this summer
Saw the tweet on Traudt allowing Bennett to follow through on a small ball lineup. Before your time, but reminds me of Duke’s ‘90 and ‘91 natty teams with Laettner as a versatile center. He could score from anywhere. After Duke upset undefeated UNLV in the Final Four, Jerry Tarkanian remarked that he was nervous about the matchup because the UNLV center George Ackles couldn’t get out to cover Laettner on the perimeter. He said they could have put Stacey Augmon or Larry Johnson on Laettner but then Ackles couldn’t guard anyone else. That was my earliest recollection of a small ball lineup completely undoing a juggernaut of a team.
Now I expect none of the Laettner douchery from Traudt (and the comparison is a little painful to even bring up), but Laettner was tough, could score from anywhere and rebound. I see some similarities.
