Agree with this. Only I see as different is how good Laettner was back to the basket. Havent seen from Traudt in the clips I have seen.
Havlicek says Traudt more like Kyle Singler. Maybe @brogdonfanpage was watching by then

I agree I havenât seen much in the way of back to the basket post-up from Traudt, but I have seen him go up in traffic with intent to dunk through contact. He seems to have some of that fearlessness, aggression, and edginess to his game that made Laettner great.

Will be fascinating to watch Traudt and Filipowski of Duke battle each other. Traudt has better handle outside shoot and more athleticism. Kyle is slightly bigger and stronger finisher inside.

So, other than 3 inches (which I concede are very important inches), whatâs the difference between Chet Holmgren and Traudt? I mean, Chet is skilled, but extremely skinny, has a smooth outside shot and a very good handle. Isaac2 is extremely skilled, but is not skinny - without reference itâs hard to guess at his height because heâs built like a guy we expect to be much shorter - and has a very smooth outside shot and a very good handle. I2 was considered very good in evaluations when he was considered to be 6â8", but at 6â10" or taller should the evaluation of him be different?

Chet handles the ball more comfortably and he dominants both ends of the floor at a higher rate. Thatâs why heâs rated so high. I know one thing someone mentioned on here or elsewhere was that although Traudt is very good, he doesnât always dominate or enforce his will, as he should.

Just curious. As I remember it - after the high school bb season there is a late spring AAU season and one or two summer AAU (or whatever) season(s). Will IT, IM and LB play in any/all of those or will they move to grounds soon after graduating HS. Is it a personal decision or something the staff has a preference on (I donât care what that preference is).
Great comment. Itâs reasonable to be excited about a recruiting win against big time programs like UNC and MSU. But our fans should probably reflect back on Guyâs first year at UVA when they set their expectations for Traudt. Heâs gonna struggle some out of the gate, particularly when teams focus on him and take away what he does well just like they bodied Guy and ran him off the three point line his 1st year and he wasnât able to adjust then. Hopefully, though,Traudt will become the kind of impact player for UVA that Guy did by his second year.

On the flip side Traudt will have a better roster than Guy did his first year. Guy was debatably the first scoring option on that team (or second to London). Not sure you can say the same about Traudt

Saw on the UNC board that more than one poster thinks Nickel will have the best career out of Traudt, Nickel, Taylor, and I had a good laugh about that. A few were downplaying Traudt but it was obvious sour grapes. If Nickel doesnât go there we all know their tone will change to âgood, didnât want him anywayâ or âwasnât a take.â
