Lol that’s a function of us not running the NC State offense more than anything.
Yea there have been some Waldo comps and
I think that’s a bit harsh. Would say Buddy Boheim might be a good recent ACC comparison for Sharma’s athleticism level. Although Buddy was taller
Haha. This is awesome
I’m happy even if he’s just a Taine type body in practice.
He has a fantastic stroke and if he fills out, he could be a nice shooter. Otherwise, a 6’5” sharpshooter is great to get reps against in practice.
I was happy that Mamadi wasn’t having it because Oregon was getting chippy and cheap. I was also terrified that we’d lose a close game on technical fouls.
Intensity and fiery leadership? Yes, please.
He’s literally Dan Merrifield’s twin on the floor. Exactly like him.
And yes, I really am joking.
Winston Salem solid team. Always have a handful of midmajor kids and a few kids that are on our radar (compared to the average high school team which has nothing)
Dawg
This dude is a very elite shooter and has no problem pulling the trigger. Many rated him as the number 2 shooter in his class just behind Kon or his equal from a shooting standpoint. Im done with the Ryan Dunns who cant even shoot a free throw. And i love Ryan but he must be surrounded by shooters. No more recruits who cant shoot
Unless it’s Cornell Parker. I would take him any day even if he never scores a point. But Ryan Dunn is no Cornell Parker … not yet
Dunn cant shoot, Gertude cant shoot, Bond cant shoot a 3 at 6’5". BVP couldn’t shoot. Quit recruitng dudes that cant shoot.
Agree with you in spirit. But you take Ryan Dunn every day of the week.
I feel the exact same way about RD’s shot, Elijah’s shot, and Tony’s ability to coach a competent offense. They’ve done it in the past, and they’ll do it in the future, but they can’t do it currently. However, the upside is so high, and the other things they’re giving you are more than worth the tradeoff, that you let them work through the struggles.
Bond has a pretty sweet midrange stroke so let’s hope he develops some perimeter touch, too.
But do we actually take Dunn every time?
Starter on a team not in the Madness field whose inability to be a threat on offense is a big reason why that team is not in the madness… and then he’s gone before he figures out the offense.
Dunn has the second highest PRPG and ORTG on the team. He is a contender for National Defensive Player of the Year. He is not among the top 5-10 problems for this team
I guess it depends if you want to be Tony Bennet, with a record of putting guys into the NBA, or if you want to be someone more like Steve Forbes with a stellar reputation of turning reclamation projects into “oh darn, we just missed the tournament again, didn’t we? But everyone says I’m a great coach!”
(But also, he probably doesn’t need more than 28 mpg, neither does anyone on this team not named Reece)
You forgot one here
Glad you said it. The Forbes love is weird. I look at the talent on their team and I’m like “why are they not top 20 consistently”?
Maybe it’ll play out. I’ll give him more time.
But definitely feels like people confuse the fact that they are fun to watch with “he’s great coach and really knows how to use the portal.”
