Thatās uhhhhā¦not good
Yikes. Yikes. Yikes. And he was being hailed as a success story with overcoming the academic hurdles. Iād have to go back and watch but pretty sure TE got a question about his retionsion in the presser yesterday. Man.
That doesnāt look good at all.
TE talked highly of him in the press conference and all our media pages shared his āreturnā. Will be something to monitor
This is bad, bad, bad. He deserves his presumption of innocence and due process, of course. But getting charges actually brought against him probably means the prosecutor believes they have enough evidence.
Believe heās already removed from the roster.
Heās done at UVA most likely.
Better be. Nate Oats aināt at the helm
You canāt leave your coach hanging out there like that. Even if youāre found innocent, not telling the coach is fucked up.
Did he not tell the coaches? Even if not, I think itās supposed to be standard for cops to tell schools, which then initiate their own title IX proceedings.
Yes I find it hard to believe the school didnāt know ā but if he was suspended before being charged he certainly could have sued. Heck, Terrance Shannon Jr. sued Illinois successfully even after he was charged.
I mean either the coaches knew or someone fucked up really bad at the police department or university
Tony was raving about him literally yesterday. Certainly didnāt seem like they knew.
Itās going to look terrible if the staff knew but operated business as usual. Like to the point that the outcry would probably lead to a resignation even if we did nothing wrong legally.
So Iām hopeful that no one knew except for Edrine. And if thatās the case, itās crazy to me that anyone could go through a season like normal with such a heavy investigation weighing on them.
Jahmal Edrine was arrested on Thursday.
Barring some wild timey-wimey stuff, I donāt know how Tony Elliott could have known about his arrest on Wednesday.
Also, given the way CTE and staff handled Mike Green and his SA allegations, Iām more than willing to give the benefit of the doubt that CTE had no idea about what was about to go down with Edrine
So much we donāt know. News says the incident was in August but the arrest was this week. When was the police report filed?. How long has Edrine been the identified suspect? What are the procedures in place for Apd to notify the school?
Obviously you want the program to have connections to know about these things as fast as possible.
And I look back and see that Edrine has been under investigation since the summer and was indicted Monday, but Edrine couldāve just lied to CTE about what he knew about his proceedings.
But basically until some evidence comes out saying otherwise, Iām willing to give Elliott and his staff the benefit of the doubt that they didnāt know.
Edrine has been under investigation? Or thereās been an investigation in process and Edrine just became main suspect. Donāt think we know the answer
