how many people complaining about warley not being able to shoot want Gertrude to start? because last i checked Gertrude cant shoot, and hes also not as versatile defensively or as good of a passer.

Oh no we’re good on discussing fits I enjoy it and am probably a lot of the reason the convo does circle. I just caught myself typing “3 shooters on the court” for like the 8th time today haha.
I should also be clear. I like Warley the player in the context of fit given what (I hope) to be the lineups around him. That includes hope of additions not yet named…
Where I worry is my (probably irrational) hope that X plays heavy minutes. He’s got insane potential but like you and some others I worry about the W/X fit together. Now let’s just lock up Y&Z. Or Psquared

Would you say he is a point forward more then a guard, im not familiar with his game. But i did hear he started fir Florida state.
Same folks that make fun of Duke for recruiting over kids every year. We want to see what Gertrude is capable of. There is no doubt what Warley can do.

also i think part of the problem last season was that we had guys like Rohde, Harris and Dunn on the court at the same time who couldnt shoot and also werent really a threat to score otherwise. Warley IS a threat to drive it to the rim and actually score/draw a foul.

I want both to start. Let’s get the all-defense unit out there, and bring in that new offense that Tony won’t shut up about… one that takes advantage of the athleticism and doesn’t rely so heavily on jump shooting.

Still don’t know why they signed Sharma. Would be nice to fill that spot too
There was one stretch last season where he went 1/1 from 3. Can’t get much better than that so let’s not just ignore it.

Don’t recall the source of the tweet, but wasn’t there a cbb analyst that said he’d pick Dello as a low major guy that COULD have a Knecht like impact next season? There is def risk. If he is way over his head we’ll need Cofie to play real mins to back up whomever we end up getting at PF

I think a 1 year rental Warley is a good add. I think he will be a good mentor for the young guards. His game had some similarities to Gertrude’s and he had played PG in the ACC which should help in his interaction with Bliss and hopefully Perry.

I don’t disagree with that…it’s that Tony’s skill in making chicken salad outa chicken shit blinds him…and I hope that us getting Dunn part Deux will further lead him to playing the best 5…and not try to make a Rhode experiment fit…which he abandoned far too late but that is also hindsight too…
