⛹ Johann Grünloh Official Thread

Grünloh for sure has 4 years of eligibility? Age wise he lines up with some rising sophomores…but then again the dude Louisville got is gonna be 22 during the 2025-26 season and apparently has two seasons of eligibility.

Another comp that was just given to me from a NBA guy was Myles Turner. Pretty big pickup for the Hoos

I wonder if this kid already has a nickname in the German league? Looks like he’ll be great with pick-n-rolls and pick-n-pops. At least we have a tall dude now.

On the Malik Thomas waiver, I have a hard time believing that after the initial ruling and appeals, that the NCAA will ultimately deny it. The number of minutes he played fall in the de minimis range, and with all the changes made by the NCAA - NIL and free transfers - it’s undeniably different. If Thomas or anyone else knew 4.5 years ago could have known the earnings potential and free agency landscape for college basketball, he would never have stepped on the court and his parents, advisors and friends would never have let him.

Yeah except the rule is zero minutes not de minimis. They might die on this hill

I posted about Tua’s little brother upthread, but the NCAA denied his waiver over 2 snaps in a game. Saban even threw himself on the sword claiming responsibility.

Always with the “I almost posted something last night” or the “whew I can say it now” after the fact. Are you Hootie?

German Giant

I mentioned this in another thread, but our top women’s tennis player also went over the limit as a freshman and was approved…after multiple rejected appeals…and the approval didn’t come until July. I guess that’s some hope, but I assume an approval in July might as well be a rejection in this case.

Jayden Gardner to Grünloh: “Hey, when you get to UVA, be sure to say hello to…” checks phone for current UVA roster and coaching staff “Okay wait he ain’t there no more… but what about… no he gone too… but surely… damn is there nobody… Aha! Say hi to Mike Curtis for me!”

Concur with @DavetheWave, Huff was the Hoonicorn!

Does Hauser count as a big?

I was thinking Alex Condon but their game may be more flipped where Condon is a better interior scorer and Grünloh the better perimeter shooter.
