Any takeaways from the Derek Dixon piece for those non-subscribers?

Dixon’s recruitment has heated up over the last year. Along with Virginia he has earned offers from Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Xavier, Maryland, Providence, Kansas State, Penn State, Pittsburgh and others.
The twitter video says half court, but it sure looked longer than that, like maybe the 3/4 you said. I was also impressed with how effortless the shot looked. Must be a strong kid.
IMO short guards can work in college. It usually works out better if they’re on high tempo teams so they get more open court looks but it can work. If it is in a half court offense, they need to have deep range and apparently Chance does. He could combine with another PG and they could play off each other, especially if the other PG is tall and can shoot as well.
Kihei would have been more effective in a high tempo offense because he didn’t really have the range on his shot needed to get beyond the defense.

I look forward to reading on some other school’s fan website when they get to the end of the recruiting article and catch…but it’s worth noting Jacob’s brother is an assistant coach at Virginia. We’ve never been on the right side of that before.
I know it’s still very early, but what’s the consensus? Do we have a decent shot?
Oh yeah UVA will be a contender for Wilkins. He’ll probably be up for an early official visit. It’ll be interesting this fall whether he or Nate Ament get more attention. They’re not mutually exclusive I guess but in the end doesn’t seem very possible to get both.
Very excited for the first message board post that accuses Virginia of hiring Zay to get Jacob.
