I’m also totally fine with how the recruiting strategy has played out. There’ll be more talent on the roster over the next few seasons than the staff has ever had.

I’d usually say you need to fight, but when it comes to Jacob Wilkins, I think you’re 100% right.
If he’s not locked down relatively early, he’s not coming.
I really think we need to lock down Mallory and Wilkins relatively quick.

I feel like we have been saying this since the JAR/Reece/Carson class and it consistently has not turned out that way. You need contingency plans in this new world.
Admittedly I am no great evaluator of talent so this is just a keyboard coach’s opinion and of little worth, but
I believe the talent has a high floor, but not sure it has the highest ceiling of teams we’ve had in the past. I think we’re missing one element and Kon could be that guy.

The contingency plan is that we have more talent so that if kids transfer we still have talent on the roster. Also lessons were learned from mistakes of past. Like Leon Bond vs Jabri is a different world of buy in, bench demeanor, etc. etc.
We don’t even need “talent” we just need a front court that can rebound and defend. Our shortcomings physically at the 4 have been an issue, not just raw talent.

As part of our recruiting pitch for guys like this, can we put together a presentation showing all the guys who bought the Duke bullshit only to get recruited over then transfer? I feel like we need to change our approach.
