Just realized with Reece winning, we’ve now got one winner at each position…at least if you want to look at their primary position when they won.
PG-Reece
SG-Malcolm
C-Atkins
SF-Hunter
PF-Wilkins

That would be a NASTY squad.
Let Wilkins shoot more 3s (instead of looking off to perrantes) and Atkins shoot 3s in general (recall him having a solid jumper).
Brogdon and Reece and Hunter Driving their man.
Yeah, I think that team would check the boxes TB needs for defense, and still some scoring punch.

No thanks on TCU
My fears of losing early in the tournament will subside if we play Rick Pitino(I love Rock Pitino but we just don’t lose to him ever)
Iona has been playing really well as of late. Top 30 hoops. He also knows Tony and his coaching, which gives him a slight advantage over other coaches. I mean, I loved our success against Louisville when he was there, but I feel like that was as much our personnel during those years (read: big wing defenders, rim protector).
I don’t have a preference among those 13-seeds. No pushovers regardless.
Bingo at this point roll the ball out and knuckle up. Everybody walking on that court expecting a win so may as well go out and take it from them.
We’re Takers gents.
Who was our rim protector in 2017? Wilkins was a great 1x1 defender, but not a rim protector (and only an inch taller than Gardner). And who were our big wings on that team? None was taller than Dunn. Thompson and Hall are the same height as Franklin and McKneely. Shayok was 6’5-6’6 and had long arms but didn’t play long.
Like that team, we have two very good ballhandlers. Difference is far more experience than 2017 and that we have 6’10 Shedrick and 7’1 Caffaro on this team.
We went 2-0 vs. Pitino in 2017 (Cards were No. 6 in game 1 and No. 4 in game 2).
Update - let’s play Iona. But seriously, not sure how that news would sit with the team.
Exactly. Doesn’t matter which team we’re playing against. All that matters is which team THEY’RE playing against.
Totally Im sick of all the hang wringing and working to get the right matchups and trying to game the system.
How bout dont be a b$$ch and roll out there and put some teams d$ck in the dirt. Whoever is on the otherside of the court is your enemy for the next 40 mins and they are trying to put hard times on you and your family. It’s up to you to step up s
And stop them.
Our guy Dragon is ready to rumble tonight. Lets gooooo!!
If I was on the team and posting analysis of matchups, I’d slap myself. But I’m not, fortunately for me and the team and you guys.
Maybe Pitino goes full brain genius and announces to his team the tournament is their audition to come to St. John’s.
I’m not worried about 13 seeds. We’re going to play our way onto the 3 line.
